One of the best things about having grandchildren is counting the ways you can spoil them and still benefit the community. That’s why I need to get myself over to NorthPark Mall to browse the 21st Dallas CASA Parade of Playhouses. I’d better run: the 17-day event ends on Sunday, July 31 at 4:00 p.m. when winning tickets will be drawn.
This annual event and raffle serves as a fundraiser for Dallas Court Appointed Special Advocates, a terrific organization of volunteers who act as a voice for abused or neglected children in court. Generous architects, builders, organizations, corporations and individuals design, build and donate extraordinary children’s playhouses to raise funds so that Dallas CASA can provide more volunteer advocates to those children have safe, permanent homes where they can thrive.

On July 31, 15 lucky raffle winners will score one of the precious mini homes designed and donated by local those generous orgs.
As always, the playhouse standouts include some of the most creative playhouses ever conceived: a house with a sloped climbing wall, a yellow cheese-shaped abode with holey windows, and a Steampunk-inspired tin playhouse, and even a butterfly house. I fancy the safari-inspired yurt and Craftsman-style playhouse with its copper roof.
Tickets are ONLY $5 and can be purchased at NorthPark or at dallascasa.org. All proceeds from sponsorships and raffle ticket sales benefit the abused children served by Dallas CASA.
What you don’t have to leave the air conditioned comfort of your home to buy ticket?

Winners do not have to be present at NorthPark Center to win, but they must be accessible by phone. Piece of cake.
