The first 75 donors will receive a carnation. Everyone will receive a coupon for Junk King services.

In the ‘80s, Gloria Estefan released a song called “Go Away.” The song is the unofficial anthem for those getting out of a relationship.

Some of the lyrics are:

Go away… Take your stuff… Take all of your precious things… Leave right now… Who knows what tomorrow brings

This Valentine’s Day you can do exactly what Gloria is recommending and Junk King will be there to help.

Renee Ferguson, owner of Junk King franchises in Dallas, North Texas and soon to be Plano, will have a truck located at Well Grounded Coffee Community collecting items they will sort, donate/recycle or simply take to the dump at no cost to you.

“This is the 5th year we will be doing the Dump Your Ex event,” Ferguson said.

“You can dump stuff from your ex-life, your ex-partner, your ex-mother-in-law,” Ferguson said with a laugh. “You can just bring anything and we will donate it. We hope you’ll stay and have a cup of coffee and feel good about decluttering.”

The event is scheduled for Feb. 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Well Grounded Coffee Community, 9219 Garland Road, Ste. 2109 in Dallas.

Giving Back is Good for the Heart

It is no accident that Junk King is setting up in front of Well Grounded Coffee Community. Ferguson said she is always looking for an opportunity to give back to the North Texas community and raise awareness of other organizations helping people get on their feet.

“Well Grounded Coffee Community is helping women get a new start on life” through employment, education, and faith, Ferguson said. “It is such a feel good promotion. We want you to dump your stuff and set yourself free from whatever holds you back.”

In honor of Heart Health Month, Junk King will also make a financial contribution for every donation made during the event on Valentine’s Day.

“Our guys will be wearing t-shirts with a big heart on them that say ‘Pass on the Love,’” Ferguson said.

Past donations have included a stuff Bobcat.

All in Fun

Along with supporting the goals of Well Grounded Coffee Community and the American Heart Association, Ferguson said it is just fun to see the different items people bring in to donate.

“Last year this guy basically slowed his car down and threw the remote out of the window and into our truck,” she said. “He said his girlfriend had broken up with him the night before and that ‘She’ll never know where this is.’”

“It’s interesting to see what people drop off,” Ferguson said.

So to all those folks who are getting out of a relationship and having to deal with clutter from your ex, you have time to get it all together and let Junk King do the rest and make it go away.

“We want to take their stuff and trash talk with them over a cup of coffee,” Ferguson said.

The event is scheduled for Feb. 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Well Grounded Coffee Community, 9219 Garland Road, Ste. 2109 in Dallas.
