When you spot a striking portrait like this one among an estate sale listing, you get the hunch this home belonged to someone grand. The estate sale taking place this weekend at 3628 Sable Ridge Drive is of the late Gerri Weise, founder of a popular skincare line, Hollywood beautician, and former burlesque performer.

As a young woman, she won a Sophia Loren lookalike contest and caught the eye of model and talent agents. By 25, she was headlining the Town Hall theater in New York City and spent several decades performing in New York, Chicago, Hawaii, and Vietnam. Weise, whose stage name was Alexandra the Great 48, was inducted into the Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas.

Mrs. Weise launched the eponymous Gerri Weise Facial Exchange skincare products. Before she created the anti-aging regimen featured in Dallas magazines, she worked as a beautician at Universal Studios in the early 80s.

“The homeowner had an artistic eye and nothing about her choices were mundane,” Sally and Kathy of the Estate Sale Specialists write of the sale that continues today and Saturday. “Her use of red as an accent color is a knockout.”
