When it comes to condos, you want corners. You want them a lot! Corners almost become more important than art or furniture! Every corner shifts your view to another direction, giving your home an amazing three-dimensional appeal, almost as it you are at the very bow of a ship, hanging over the water “Titanic” style.
So unit 1502 at The House by Philippe Starck is a rare fish in a sea of glassy condominiums. It has full, unobstructed views of downtown Dallas from floor to ceiling in every single room! Being a rare corner unit, those views are magnified even more. You are practically floating over the city from multiple angles! It has 2818 square feet, three bedrooms, two of which are master suites. I am not kidding. There is a third bedroom, en suite bath of course. There is no powder room, which kind of bothers me, except I guess you just have guests use the third bedroom bath. All walls are finished museum-quality, baby butt’s smooth. The kitchen sprawls, the appliances are top of the line Sub-Zero and Asko, there is custom art lighting, and store store store — extra storage which you get a lot of with 10 foot ceilings. The bathroom fittings are by Starck himself, and I recall when he served up the marble at this property, he went all out.
I know! I interviewed him!
The House is one of downtown living’s best kept secrets that is not so secret anymore: amenities include a great location, the best pool deck in town with a 130′ pool, hot tub, cabanas, over-sized outside fireplace, incredible city views; fabulous owner’s lounge; fitness center, a guest suite for overnight guests; business and conference room and like most condos, 24-hour concierge and valet.
My son has several friends who own here and love it. The other surprise is that if you are considering condo living downtown, you need to high tail it down here as these homes are selling PDQ: contact Jarrad Barnes and Joesph Gullotto at Dave Perry-Miller & Associates.
How much for your corners on the world? $1,390,000. Does not include the Windex!
