Mom Deserves the Best: Check Out Jason & Michelle Witten’s $4.6ish Vaquero Estate

2001-Navasota-Court-overview

It’s Viva Las Vegas now for Jason Witten’s and his family, but they are enjoying this Mother’s Day — and what’s left of quarantine in North Texas — in this beautiful, 8841 square foot spread in our Vaquero.

Witten’s historic run with the Dallas Cowboys came to a close when the star tight end signed a one-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders. His beautiful home on Navasota Drive in Vaquero is listed with Roxann Taylor and Dan Nicoloff of Engel & Voelkers for $4.685 million.

Vaquero is, of course, that 525 acre master planned development by Discovery Land Company home to every Who’s Who in North Texas. It was once the Hunt’s Circle T Ranch, who sold it to Ross Perot Jr., who sold to Discovery. Vaquero is seriously gated and offers membership in the newly-remodelled 28,000-square-foot Vaquero Club, a Hill Country-esque clubhouse with a killer Tom Fazio golf course, available only to property owners. The Vaquero Club recently ousted its CFO amid a $5.4 million deficit.

The Mediterranean mansion is not only breathtakingly beautiful, the Wittens missed no practices during SIP: the home is on a 1.2 acre lot roughly the size of a football field. Pro athletes are looking hard at the house, says Taylor, mostly because of Vaquero’s famous security and because the home is only half an hour north of Cowboys’ stadium.

Dense landscaping cradles the stone-clad home, which opens to an open-air, engineered floor plan with six bedrooms, six bathrooms, two half-baths, and a handful of expansive living spaces. The master wing has it’s own sitting room and a lush master bath.

Double doors bring you into a two-story great room with wood beams and dual chandeliers hanging over a living room and dining area. Hardwood floors provide contrast in the whitewashed gourmet-delight kitchen. Other highlights include a wine cellar, a very tastefully done movie theater, wet bar and game room full of memorabilia. Roxann tells me the play rooms flank the media room: truly a family’s play paradise.

Upstairs are three large, en suite bedrooms and another play area. The exteriors are truly like a private club: columns line the covered patios out back, fashioned with separate dining areas under hanging lights — yes, lights. (Consider the “End of Covid-19” parties you will have here!). The exterior spaces descend to a massive resort-style pool with dual levels, a spa, slide and waterfall. There is also an 828-square-foot guesthouse with a private patio the Wittens built, ostensibly for family and guests. The entire property is on a private cul de sac borders the famous golf course.

Only the best, the very best, for mom!
