There’s a lot to love about McKinney, the Collin County seat that’s got one of the best historic downtown squares hands down. There are about 120 shops and two dozen restaurants in this commercial downtown district. The agenda here: Shop the clothing boutiques at 540 Mercantile, enjoy dinner at The Pantry Restaurant, stop for coffee at fILTER(ed) Craft Coffee House, shop antiques at Special Things, eat pie at Emporium Pies, and grab a pie (or half dozen) to go.

We found a lot to love about the homes here, but our very favorite detail is this original clawfoot tub in an early American Craftsman home built in 1890. See the home that tub belongs to and two other great homes we found for sale in McKinney.

Located in the exclusive gated community of Estates at Craig Ranch, this 2013-built home is a standout with its dramatic gated courtyard entrance that leads to the rotunda entryway and soaring ceilings. Just as dramatic is the outdoor living area with a tall elongated pergola with stone pavers, stone fireplace and lush landscaping that extends through the large grassy yard.

This early American Craftsman home was built in 1890 on nearly a quarter acre of land in the heart of McKinney’s Historic District. Period-authentic updates have been done to preserve the home with original pine floors, shiplap walls, 12-foot ceiling, and the original clawfoot tub in the bath. OBSESSED with that tub.
