Where: 1004 W. Bethesda Rd., Cleburne, TX, located 25 miles south of Fort Worth off 35W. Parking is free.

What makes it special: Known as “The Biggest Backyard in Texas,” the Wilson family started Mainstay Farm back in 1989 when they moved from Fort Worth out of a desire to raise their family in the country. They started planting Christmas trees six months later, and the first of several seasonal traditions was born. During the fall, Mainstay celebrates the season with over 40 attractions, including its own ferris wheel and other rides, pumpkins galore, Mainstay Farm wine, delicious food, and much more.

At the Mainstay Farm Fall Festival, not only can you leave with the farm-fresh pumpkin of your choice, but Mainstay has fields full of You-Pick zinnias to cut, making the perfect backdrop for gorgeous family photos — are fall zinnia pics the next spring bluebonnet pics? Kids will love all the big rides, several mazes and games, and a Triple Decker Treehouse Fort, not to mention a train ride, paintball gallery, and face painting. You can go on a hayride, watch sheep racing, and feed the farm animals for some good old-fashioned farm fun.
