Is Jerry’s World Really in Arlington? Jerry Jones’ Passion Appears Elsewhere

You won’t catch me calling AT&T Stadium the name other people love to call it — Jerry’s World.

The name derives from billionaire Jerry Jones, of course, and his showcase stadium that he wanted to turn into a mega entertainment venue.

It’s a magnificent place, for sure, but another part of the Dallas area is turning into the real Jerry’s World.

Blue Star Land, the real estate branch of Jones’ financial empire, recently added another chunk of land to its Collin County holdings, according to The Dallas Morning News.

Represented by broker Rex Glendenning, Blue Star Land bought an 88-acre tract west of Celina that’s near the route of the Dallas North Tollway extension through Collin County. The land is next to a 107-acre tract at the tollway route and FM 428 that Blue Star bought in 2018.

That makes sense because Celina is a boomtown. Developers are buying up thousands of acres of land, and Blue Star is right with them.

The Star at Frisco is an enormous commercial development housing the off-season home of the Dallas Cowboys.

Blue Star owns hundreds of acres south of Celina on the west side of Prosper, where it is developing the Star Trail residential community and holds large tracts for industrial and commercial building, The News reported.

Blue Land is also developing land in Prosper, including the Gates of Prosper mixed-use development. Like other developers, Jones has been sold on Prosper for a long time. In a 2006 interview with D Magazine, Jones confirmed his passion for investing in Prosper.

“I have a reputation as a risk-taker, but I don’t see this investment as a gamble,” Jones told D Magazine. “In fact, the growth is faster than I anticipated. I’m sold on the area.”

Of course, you can’t leave out the Star in Frisco, a $1.5 billion mixed-use development that also is the home of a franchise that is valued at $6.5 billion by Forbes.

So, as you can tell, Jerry’s World might actually be in Collin County.
