70’s Midcentury Mod Near Disney Streets Has Four Car Garage and Sounds of Silence

Oh how we love the Disney Streets in North Dallas. Pinnochio, Happy, Grumpy, Sleepy, Snow White — home to some of this city’s best mid century modern architecture and the biggest fourth of July parade in town. This is a neighborhood to re-define all neighborhoods, broken in and uplifted by the Gayborhood principle. And when there is a home listed, we jump on over to take a look/see, because we know it won’t be available for long

3843 Regent is actually SOUTH of the Disney Streets, because it is south of Royal, in one of my favorite neighborhoods in town. In fact, our very first home was just west of here on Ainsworth. This 1970’s perfection ranch is located in a quadrant of  beautiful, bountiful ’60s and ’70s ranches. The home is open, expanded and completely updated inside. I’m talking a new roof in 2014, new windows, recently replaced HVAC of 2 zones, 16 SEER, and a tankless water heater. Mechanically, this home is impeccable!

Regent-LR2Walk in to the large great room with vaulted ceiling & rock fireplace. You have 3300 square feet of living space that packs in four bedrooms, three full and one half bath, two living areas, two dining areas, a porch that I personally would update, and a four car garage. The storage potential in this house is mind-boggling.

Updates have been taken into the kitchen as well, with the requisite granite, deep kitchen sink, and some stainless steel appliances. Methinks the electric stove and oven may have to go. But I am just gaga over the pattern on those white cabinets, you? The center island is very handy, could be bigger, but the breakfast room is so well appointed I am happy. I swear the 1970’s was the era of the breakfast room, they have never built them quite the same since. I am a huge fan of breakfast room built-ins like this. Had one when we lived on Melissa Lane, missed it ever since.

I’m told this room is also sound-proofed, which leads me to wonder very, very much what all goes on in there?

Then there is that four car garage. Don’t know if you want to fill it with four cars, but certainly plenty of room for bikes, toys, and muddy pets. I would also consider glamming up the garage with a new floor and cabinets and make it an alternative play or party room. Listed with Ebby’s Victoria Barr de Quinones, who brought the buyers to Tim Headington’s unit at the Ritz. Remember that? Remember also to call on the folks at Inwood Bank & Mortgage to help you finance this Regent puppy — they tell me rates are great. You will need to chat with Inwood, too, should you want to do a little work on that porch. Or the garage. Or maybe add in a swimming pool? This home is only $549,000 and just went into MLS on January 22.

This is sure the right time to hug a banker — especially those guys at Inwood.Regent-master Regent-master-bath Regent-master-bath2 Regent-office Regent-garage Regent-patio Regent-yard Regent-side-front
