A Great House For Kids: Meander on Over to Meadow For Quarters and Quarterbacking

A lot of homes have been built in Preston Hollow over the last 10 to 20 years. Though this is one of my favorite neighborhoods –we lived on Brookview for a year or so while we built our current house — sometimes the houses can all look too Frenchy. Or too like University Park North.

6531 Meadow has a beat to it’s own drummer. It is a meticulously designed, well-planned home sitting on a perfect .34 of an acre. The home itself was so meticulously built: it is sitting on approx. 120 piers, has a radiant barrier, a cocoon insulation system, & great energy efficiency. Aesthetically there is outstanding mill work & top of the line quality throughout the home on every cabinet, every door.

You enter through a large, dramatic foyer which leads to the open floor plan style of living — scads of room for entertainment. There are formals, a handsome library with serious shelves and storage, two bedrooms with en suite baths down, including the large master suite. The kitchen is as decked as you would expect it to be: 6 burner cooktop, two dishwashers yes!, a warming  drawer, and a huge butler’s pantry.

The home is bright, light, and meticulously maintained. Hardwoods throughout, exquisite cabinetry and molding. It sports a circular drive, auto gate & interior block. It was built in 2000, which was a very good year for building, thanks to the Milenium . The home has a grand total of  6539 square feet, 6 bedrooms, five full and one half bath, exercise room and a study room. The water world backyard is all set for parties’.

Lets go inside! 6531 Meadow has 6 large bedrooms, all but one with ensuite baths, plus quarters over the garage, which is a true find for young families. Two of the bedrooms are downstairs. The construction was extremely OCD: The home is sitting  on, as we told you, 120 piers and the mill work is amazing, such as the moldings around the windows.  It’s a great entertaining home with large dining room, two dishwashers, warming oven and great butler’s pantry!  (Just keep those Butlers coming…)

There is also a rooftop deck, a three car garage and cabana bath by the huge pool/spa.  The house is so meticulously maintained, it appears no one has ever lived here. The original asking price was  $1,931,000, but it’s now been reduced to sell  at  $1,895,000. Another fabulous listing with agent Debbie Murray of Allie Beth Allman & Associates.

Here’s how detailed the custom building of this house is: the owners even commissioned a study to determine the best light for children’s eyes in the library. Oh and I almost forgot: there is a rooftop deck, which connects to the game room and to the quarters. It overlooks the pool and I’ll bet you can see the games at St. Mark’s. Happy quarterbacking! The great folks at Inwood Mortgage will be more than happy to help you make this your dream home. Let the memory-making begin!
