Gorgeous Sparkman Club Traditional Feels Modern Inside, Has Epic Pool Outside

I love how this home blends texture and style so effortlessly. From the front of this home in Sparkman Club Estates, you would think that it’s just your average 1960s traditional ranch. A rambler with perhaps a few updates, but nothing dramatic, nothing special.

Of course, that’s where you’d be absolutely wrong! Surprises are behind every door — even the back door! — of this 1959 traditional. Jump to see them all!

Of course, it’s bright and cheerful and open, thanks to a remodel that took down a couple of walls between the formal dining and living areas. This five-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath home at 3242 Princess has a contemporary/transitional feel throughout its 3,854 square feet. It’s marketed by Beth Clem at Rogers Healy and Associates for a recently reduced $549,900 (previously $589,900). That is a great value for this location and size! It has plenty of curb appeal, too, and gorgeous mature trees throughout the 0.23 acre lot.

Now, the family room, which has a gorgeous fireplace, definitely feels modern. It has a coffered ceiling and a modern metal fan that really alters the overall feel of the room. I do love how it’s open to the kitchen, though, and allows for a cozy breakfast area. The full-light doors open to a sunroom, which then opens to the backyard. We’ll talk a little more about that epic outdoor space later.

Now, this kitchen is just perfect. I wouldn’t change a thing. I love the translucent glass subway tile backsplash, the granite counters, and the stainless steel appliances. But my favorite thing — absolute favorite — is the two-tone cabinets. A modern Shaker-style charcoal stain on the base cabinets and a warm maple up top is just perfect for adding some extra style to what could be a bland, cliche kitchen. This effect allows for some contrast between the hardwood floor, too. It also has a coffee bar, which is a wonderful touch.

Other great rooms include a library or office with Saltillo tile floors. This is a great area for anyone who has a collection, or needs a quiet space for a comfy rug and chair to decompress.

I like the master suite, which has been updated and has the same feel as the living room. It’s not too small at 16×13, and is the only bedroom on the first floor.

The master bath has a great layout, with the dual vanities on separate sides of a dividing wall. I love this layout, because it is an end-run around any argument over counter space. You could leave your flat-iron out and your partner can’t say a word about it! I am less enthusiastic about the mosaic tile around the shower and bath tub. They could have probably chosen a design that was less busy, and maybe just used the mosaic as an accent.

3242-Princess-Nursery

There are four more bedrooms upstairs, one of which is this adorable princess-style nursery! Totally fitting considering the name of the street! I’m going to say that all little girls’ rooms should have adorable chandeliers in them from now on. It is just the perfect touch!

Now, when I said that this backyard is a huge selling point, I meant it. It isn’t a huge backyard, but it packs a great punch! With a mult-sided fireplace, a fantastic pool with waterfall fountain, a dining deck, and a lovely stone patio, you can enjoy this backyard year-round! What do you think?
