Talk about a home with raw potential! This 1940s stone-clad traditional is all about lines an angles, and has some features that will make you swoon for Kessler Park home. It’s on the market for the first time in 30 years, and it’s on a quiet cul-de-sac off one of the prettiest streets in the tony North Oak Cliff  nabe. It’s listed by David Griffin Realtors Sam Claussen and Sam Saladino, and it’s such a unique spot!

“My partner Ken Downing and I have driven by Olympia for years wondering what could be going on behind that wonderful stone and timber facade,” said Saladino. “So when Sam Claussen came across it a few months ago and asked me if I was familiar, it was kismet! So began our game of real estate ‘Clue.'”
What they found was a hidden gem at 1523 Olympia that had been off the market for so long it was practically a time warp. It’s a two-bedroom, one-bath cottage perched on top of a hill with amazing views of Stevens Park Golf Course and the Belmont Hotel from the backyard. It has an Austin-like feel, for sure. Listed for $465,000, it has more than 1,500 square feet, a fantastic vintage fireplace, and tons of wonderful architectural touches.

“It’s head of its time architecturally for 1940,” Claussen said. “There are lots of corner windows, a very cool circular window, curved walls, and a wrap-around front awning.”

There are only five homes on Olympia, Claussen added, an off-the-beaten-path street near Lausanne. Homes don’t come on the market over in this neck of the woods too often, he said, as the last sale was way back in 2007.

“The location affords seclusion, scenic vistas, and the opportunity to create something enduring far above the ‘madding crowd,’ so to speak,” Saladino said. “Your very own Mt. Olympus in Dallas!”
