Though it was built in 1935, this home on Crestline Road in Fort Worth’s Westside looks like it might have been built yesterday. In this case, that isn’t a bad thing.

Really, the story here is a bit of “everything old is new again.”

A 2015 renovation has added space and panache to a classic Westside residence which has the additional draw of River Crest Country Club golf course frontage. The style is bold and fresh, though contemplation will recall to mind the work of such past masters as Billy Haines and Tony Duquette-exuding an air of old school Hollywood glamour.

Case in point — the entryway, with gloss emerald green walls and the staircase with its intricate and striking geometries with bold black banister and treads. Stark deer-patterned wool stair runner, seen from the chic little powder room, adds a touch of luxury.

If all of this looks a bit too polished to be the result of random evolution it’s because it is the result of two powerhouse talents, one of whom we’ve met on these pages before.

The interior design and rich backdrops are the refined effort of gifted designer Leigh Taylor. The perfectly attuned furnishings were provided and managed by star stager Tina McMackin.

The overall vibe is 1970s high style. An Eero Saarinen seating group blends beautifully with a mostly beige milieu punctuated with electric blue chairs and stools. The mirrored chimneypiece adds another vintage note.

Ebony chairs float on a cream rug on ebony floors with black lampshades echoing the scheme. Again, strong blues deliver drama here, in the lamp bases and art. The cheerful mood is enhanced by the addition of the sunny conservatory which it looks into.

Not surprisingly, the kitchen is decked out with all of the trimmings, including two dishwashers, dual sinks, a gorgeous six-burner Le Cornue gas range in another stunning blue tone, and gleaming stainless counters.

The solarium feels like an attached conservatory — a construction of steel and glass executed with a sweet simplicity — a sexy suite of rattan, a pair of lamps, and two fig trees. The ground floor also has an impressive laundry room, wine cellar, wet bar, and mudroom. In addition to a rear stairway, there is an added elevator.

And there’s that classic axis deer-patterned carpet reappearing in the master suite. The mix of patterns in this room is nothing short of virtuosic.

Other bedrooms ― there are six in all — show the same attention (obsession?) with details. Each has an ensuite bath. There is something so vintage House Beautiful about this secondary bedroom, but once again it gives the impression of being newly minted. The plaid ceiling is a brilliant inspiration.

Completing this picture of near perfection is very private walled garden with antique brick hardscape. There is also a basement and work out area. The attached garage has room for three cars.
