Good rentals are hard to find, but this gem in the Hollywood Heights will suit your needs and leave a little room in your pocketbook to decorate for the holidays.

Believe it or not, Dallas “proper” actually doesn’t have the highest rent in the metroplex, according to The Zumper Dallas Metro Area Report’s analysis of active listings, updated Sept. 10.

The price of $1,800 for a two-bedroom appears to be on the high end, but it’s balanced out by some nice amenities. There’s a reason “location, location, location” is a thing.

Aside from the nearby attractions, the San Mateo house has an electric cooktop and oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, disposal, and screened-in porch. The air conditioner and furnace unit are brand new, as are the wood-style floors.

Tenants are responsible for all utilities, a security deposit, a refundable pet deposit, and background and credit checks.

School days

The neighborhood is zoned for Lakewood Elementary School, J.J. Long Middle School, and Woodrow Wilson High School.

Lakewood received an overall B rating from Txschools.gov, with A’s in student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Long Middle School scored a B overall with a C in student achievement, B in school progress and C in closing the gaps. Wilson High School racked up B’s across the board.
