2244 Winton Terrace West will certainly make you say “WOW”  (Photos: Epic FOTO)

There is a great scene from a film fave of mine, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, where the Steve Martin character is looking at this mansion on the Rivera and all the amenities and simply says, “Wow. Wow. Wow. This, this — I want this!”

While it’s located in Fort Worth near the Trinity River, not the Rivera, if you’re looking for a “wow” house then you came to the right place.

Apparently, our Fort Worth Friday writer, Eric Prokes, feels the same way about this Michael Bennett-designed modern masterpiece.

A museum and a house? Only at 2244 Winton Terrace in the Parkhill Neighborhood of Fort Worth

The ‘Wow’ House

This home will now-and-forever be known as “The Wow House” in my mind.  To say it’s a spectacular 7,130-square-foot thing of beauty would be an understatement.

Maybe a good term would be: an amazingly cool, hip, modern, museum-esque, magnificent, stupendous, super sexy masterpiece of a home would be a better description.

Notice the glass floor above the library – that’s the Continental Divide in plaster above fireplace

This four-bedroom, four-and-one-half-bathroom modern cannot be truly explained in words or in pictures (though that won’t stop us from trying. Twice.) You really need to see if for yourself.

Risen From The Ashes

According to listing agent Laurie Brants of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Real Estate, the current sellers originally had a sprawling ranch-style home at 2244 Winton Terrace.  A number of years ago a freak fire occurred and burned that home to the ground.

Instead of rebuilding a similar style of home, the owners wanted to make a splash.  They wanted a home that would allow them to have large parties for their favorite charities and to appropriately display their art collection.

The home was designed by Michael Bennett and built by Landon Banks Construction — both of Fort Worth — in 2017 in the Park Hill neighborhood.

Best of Best Materials

(Here comes a long run-on sentence that SEO loves.)  This masterpiece is filled with materials such as Leuders limestone, steel beams, a standing seam metal roof, terrazzo flooring, level 5 drywall finish, Dekton countertops in the kitchen, butler’s pantry and prep kitchen, Bertazzoni range, Liebherr refrigerator, Lutron lighting system, a geothermal heating system, Crestron whole house media control system, and so much more!

If you want the absolute best of the best, 2244 Winton Terrace is where you should start looking.

Award Winning Gardens

If having a home that could pass as a museum wasn’t enough, the home also includes an in-ground gunite infinity-edge pool with a pool house and multiple outdoor gathering spaces.

Over the years the grounds of 2244 Winton Terrace have been lauded for their beauty.  The home has been featured as part of the Historic Fort Worth Garden Tour in 2012 and 2019.

Of course, when the home and grounds have everything you could possibly imagine, the only thing you need is your very own waterfall. Not to worry, 2244 Winton Terrace has that, too!

There is much more to say — but you’re going to just have to enjoy the photos and go see the home if you have a chance.

Laurie Brants of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Real Estate has listed 2244 Winton Terrace for $3.92 million.
