Colvin-Court-Rendering

I know this is a little unorthodox for our weekly High Caliber Home of the Week feature, but we would be remiss if we didn’t draw a little attention to a cool new development right off of Gilbert Street in Oak lawn. Designed by renowned, award-winning architect Russell Buchanan, this beautiful limestone and metal grouping of eight townhomes (four duplexes) was built by Centre Living Homes and is being marketed by David Griffin & Company Realtors.

This is exactly the type of property that Dallas needs — beautiful architecture, private courtyards, greater density, and environmentally conscious construction — and is certainly fitting of being named this week’s High Caliber Home of the Week sponsored by Lisa Peters of Caliber Home Loans. If you’re ready to make your dream home a reality, call Lisa Peters of Caliber Home Loans to breeze through your purchase from bid to closing.

Jump to find out more about the delectable architecture and amenities of Colvin Court, as well as how you can get a first-look tour on Thursday, April 28.

Right now, David Griffin has listings for three homes inside the eight-unit Colvin Court development — 3710, 3735, and 3770 — and one is under Active Option Contract. Each townhome has three levels, a private courtyard, and tons of natural light throughout the two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath floor plan.

The units, which clock in at 2,069 square feet, are priced between $585,000 and $620,000. You can see them at an exclusive “first look” event tomorrow, April 28, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Right now, 3710 Colvin Court is priced at $590,000 and shows like a dream.

The subtle mix of colors and textures in this unit really work, with a eat-in island featuring a large wooden bar — a riff off the hardwood floors and window trim — the rectangular tile, European cabinetry, and top-of-the-line appliances including a French door oven and one of the coolest venthoods I’ve ever seen.

The smaller bedroom is on the ground floor, with its own storage and en-suite bath. This is perfect for guests, as there’s plenty of separation between the master suite on the third floor and enough privacy from the common spaces on the second floor. A sliding door separates the space, and the cool polished concrete floors are perfect with the built-in storage.

The master bedroom is on the third floor, and it’s just gigantic. I do love how the master bath occupies the space along the wall with a slight angle to the top of the 10-foot ceiling. It brings in a little architectural interest. And while it’s narrow, the master bath is a five-piece affair with a soaking tub in the wet area, closed in with a frameless glass shower surround.

If you can’t make it to the first-look launch tomorrow, be sure to stop in on Sunday, From 2 to 5 p.m.
