Relatively new to the industry, Lingenfelter Custom Homes has only three years under its belt, but you’d never know by looking at their work. The reason, as Adam Lingenfelter says of his eponymous company, is in the attention to detail. That’s why we’re excited to share even more about Adam and Lingenfelter Custom Homes in our Dallas Builders Association Member Spotlight.

Find out more about Lingenfelter Custom Homes as the Daltxrealestate.com staff highlights some of the spectacular members of Dallas Builders Association right here, asking these consummate professionals all about their business as a way to brag on the many quality, trustworthy builders in the North Texas area that can count themselves among their peers in the Dallas Builders Association.

What location or area do you primarily build in? What about the location makes it especially attractive?

We mostly build north DFW, but primarily Flower Mound and surrounding areas.  The school districts are very good, these areas are close to D/FW Airport, plus, these areas have low crime rates and lots of amenities.

What’s your go-to architectural style? Traditional? Contemporary? Old World? Modern?

I would probably answer that as transitional. Right now, for example, we have two traditional homes being built, two very modern houses, two craftsman houses, two contemporary houses, one Mediterranean house, and four transitional houses that are a mix of traditional and contemporary components. Most of our houses have some transitional components in them right now.

How does your company provide value to your clients?

We put a significant focus on areas of the home that people typically don’t pay much attention to but are extremely important for the home’s longevity: Foundations, framing, framing safety hardware, insulation (full foam encapsulation), and HVAC equipment to give a few examples. We want stronger structures that will withstand significant wind events, will be more comfortable to live in, have better HERS scores, and lower energy costs.

Have you received any recent awards?

We are still relatively new, so we are just now starting to win awards. We are listed as one of the largest custom home builders in D/FW in the Dallas Business Journal (#15 – 2018), we just recently won 2019 Living Magazine’s Readers Choice Best Custom Builder in Flower Mound and surrounding areas, we have multiple badges on Houzz including 2019 Best of Houzz Service, we just received an award by Build magazine for Texas Builder of the Year, and we are a finalist (top 3) for Best of Denton County in two categories.

Considering the competition, how does your brand distinguish itself?

Quality. We are typically not going to be the cheapest. Our focus is on designing amazing homes and building them better than what’s typical.

What does being a member of the Dallas Builders Association do for you and your business?

It is a great network of builders and associates. The networking part of it is worth being a member by itself but as a member, we also get legislative assistance, assistance with local municipalities, continuing education, group insurance rates, and pricing discounts with some services.

What is the biggest challenge you face in the current market? What are you doing to overcome it?

Selling homes that are built of better quality in a market where many real estate agents don’t understand the quality differences. We are having many conversations with real estate agents about what we are doing differently and what to look for in general when determining a home’s quality.
