Coronavirus Cabin Fever Have You Cleaning Out Closets? Here’s How to Dump Your Junk

With all this time at home, we know you’ve been diligent about organizing and cleaning out closets. It’s all in the garage now, isn’t it? And now it’s time to clean out the garage. So, after you’ve purged, what the heck do you do with all that junk?

Call Junk King!

Junk King is a one-stop solution in taking that final step to get all that stuff off your property for good. Yes, you can probably still get a dumpster. But, you know it’s going to sit in your driveway for days and your neighbors will probably sneak their junk into it when you aren’t looking. Wouldn’t you rather kiss it all goodbye without lifting a finger?

“We offer touchless removal services,” Dallas Junk King owner Renee Ferguson said. “You simply point to what you want to be removed, and our Junk King team will do all the work. Our service is still with a smile but without a handshake!”

Ferguson’s teams take care to make sure that customers stay safe, she said.

“Our teams are equipped with hand sanitizers, disinfectants, facial coverings, and we can take payment without touch as well,” she said. “We also serve the high-rise and commercial communities.”

Ready to get rid of your “major award”?

Ferguson started her Junk King franchise eight years ago. Those of us in the staging and real estate community rely on it constantly. We always have clients with old playsets, climbing walls, trampolines, and forts. The sellers are not moving them and the new owners don’t want them. Junk King has been a real problem solver for our real estate community.

“People come to us with a problem,” Ferguson said. “They are clearing out a family home after the death of a loved one and have already removed the valuable pieces. They get stuck because it’s still a walk down memory lane. It’s hard to cope and the remaining items have no monetary value. We relieve the burden and get the job done in a few hours. Even properties where hoarding has been an issue can be done in a day or a day and a half.

One of Ferguson’s clients had been trying to clear out a relative’s property for a year when the Realtor advised her to stop and call Junk King. It was a prepper property that was like a small compound, complete with a four-car garage full to the brim and an overflowing attic.

“It took 17 truckloads,” Ferguson said. “Fortunately, we could recycle, donate, and redirect most of it.”

Some treasures discovered during coronavirus closet purging definitely require touchless removal service.

But don’t think about this service only when you are moving. Sometimes you just need an item out of your home. Like a bobcat. Because sometimes taxidermy backfires. Big time. Ferguson told me about the time she received a call about their one-day service. The client wanted something gone and gone fast. “There was a bobcat in her living room,” Ferguson said. The taxidermist had unfortunately turned a fierce crouching animal into something that looked more like a pussycat — with crossed eyes.

Ferguson kept the cat.

“It’s one of the best things we’ve ever picked up,” she said. “I bring it to trade shows and events to showcase what we do.” Ferguson also brings along another great find. If you’ve seen “A Christmas Story” you’ll remember the infamous leg lamp. Ferguson said people at trade shows always want their photo taken with it.

Remember, Goodwill and the Salvation Army are not accepting donations right now. When they do, they don’t take everything anymore. They’ve become selective because they know what sells. When your mom has something for 40 years, and you don’t want it, neither do they. Just call Junk King and get rid of the junk!
