A new homebuilder knows a hot housing market when it sees it.

Century Communities, a Greenwood Village, Colorado-based homebuilder, recently announced its expansion into the Dallas-Fort Worth market. In 2022, Century Communities will build new communities totaling more than 900 homes in southeast Dallas, Forney, Ferris, and northwest of Fort Worth in Springtown.

“We’ve been waiting for the right time to enter the Dallas-Fort Worth market, so it’s a thrill to officially announce our first homes here,” Brian Fogarty, Century Communities’ Texas regional president, said in a statement. “We’re excited to offer buyers the lifestyle, amenities, and contemporary design that they’re looking for in a new home today.”

The houses, which will be priced from the low $200,000s, will have brick exteriors and contemporary open-concepts with a mix of single- and two-story options, including covered patios.

  • In Forney, 700 homes in the mid-$300,000s will be built in the Overland Grove subdivision. Homes will range from 1,900 to 3,000 square feet with standard designs, including bonus rooms. Amenities include a resort-style pool with shaded cabanas, picnic areas, a dog park, a disc golf course, and a fishing pond.
  • Century will build 88 homes in the low $200,000s in the Middlefield Estates subdivision in Dallas south of Interstate 20. Four- to five-bedroom homes will be available up to 2,180 square feet.
  • The Sperling Place Farms community in Ferris will see 78 homes priced in the mid-$200,000s. Single- and two-story homes will be available.
  • In Springtown, 47 single-family houses priced from the mid-$200,000s will be built with floorplans up to 1,776 square feet. Residents will have access to a 33-acre park with fields, sports courts, and disc golf.
