The beautiful new home of Joyce and Larry Lacerte was the scene Saturday evening for a private showing of the prolific and quite talented works of architect Cole Smith. He designed and recently completed this house for the Lacertes, even as he designed and helped them built their former $20 plus million estate at 5323 Park Lane in Dallas, now owned by Kelcy Warren. The house is stunning. But the center of attention Saturday was several paintings, A LOT,  all painted by Cole himself. The spectrum of his talented art eye is everywhere, from Antarctic scenes to the beach to mechanical machines with moving parts to pastoral. This was Cole’s very first painting show, but his love of brush and canvas has been long-lived. The paintings are available through Sherry Hayslip’s Boutique — Sherry  being Cole’s beautiful wife. My favorite: the beach scenes and the fabulous penguin!  Cole-Smith-paintings-1024x680
