There are many North Texas real estate agents who have reached a 30-year milestone in the business. No doubt the names of all would generate a pretty sizable list. But if you were to apply an additional filter to the 30 years – one for agents who have been the No. 1 producer in their company that entire time – the list shrinks to one.
Cindy O’Gorman.

O’Gorman describes her inauspicious start in real estate 33 years ago.
“I remember interviewing with a well-known local real estate leader,” she says. “She could not have been more discouraging. I had two small children and was very young and just wanted to work part time. She looked at me and said, ‘You will never make it. You are too young, and it is too difficult to raise a family and sell real estate.’ I told her I was already selling more than the top agent in the Carrollton office (which is the office I was joining), and doing it all without training or marketing.”
“She was right – it is not easy, but it is possible,” O’Gorman adds.

Apparently Rookie O’Gorman knew even then she had found her calling and would not be deterred. As of December 31, 2021, the highly respected Realtor has been the No. 1 Producer at Ebby Halliday Realtors for three decades straight. It was just announced at the company’s annual “The Ebbys” award show on Wednesday, February 23.
After the announcement of the No. 2 top producer, a video began setting the stage with the current events of 1992, when O’Gorman’s 30-year streak as Ebby’s No. 1 Producer began. The US Men’s Basketball ‘Dream Team’ dominated the Olympics, Ross Perot ran for President, and “I Will Always Love You” topped the charts, among other notable happenings.
Ebby Halliday Companies President & CEO Chris Kelly then broke into the video to kick off the congratulatory praise and best wishes for O’Gorman offered by several current and former teammates, close Ebby friends and family members. She has two daughters (Hollie O’Gorman Siglin and Stacie O’Gorman Ferguson) who have followed in her footsteps, and seven grandkids who just might one day as well, after growing up around such an extraordinary example.

The following are the highlights of her legendary career.
- Over 5,000 families and individuals represented
- Average of 1 house sold every 2.3 days for 33 years straight
- $2.7 billion in career sales
- Average of $82 million in sales every year for 33 years straight

Asked why she has stayed so long, O’Gorman says, “I have seen so many agents move companies so many times, and I see the time and energy they spend having to start again. I chose Ebby Halliday because it’s such a professional company, and the agents have fabulous reputations. I have been especially happy since Chris Kelly has taken over and modernized technology and marketing, and made himself very agent accessible. I am so proud to have maintained the top associate position for such a large brokerage 30 years in a row, something Chris has said he did not think had been accomplished with this size company before.”
An in-person celebration for the Ebby Halliday Top Producers took place March 3rd at Hall Arts Hotel, and you better believe that accomplishment generated a lot of toasts in O’Gorman’s honor.
