Ready to live in a place that you can truly have a staycation every day? Then think about a move to Uptown. So many people are making the move to Uptown Dallas to enjoy the convenient and walkable lifestyle that only Uptown Dallas offers. And, this year, Uptown Dallas got bigger and better, with the expansion of the West Village and the addition of Whole Foods on McKinney Avenue. Put that together with the free McKinney Avenue Trolley and hundreds of shops, restaurants and nightlife. This gives you an amazing lifestyle to help achieve that “work/life” balance we all need.
Uptown has a huge amount of choices for renting! Let’s explore just a few of the choices you might want to consider.
Monaco on the Trail
Ready to live in a boutique hotel kind of feel with perfect walking convenience? Consider the Monaco on the Katy Trail. The Monaco is directly connected to the Katy Trail, offering a quick transition from the stress of work and life. And, it’s about 4 minutes walking distance to the West Village and the free Uptown Trolley (that will get you to that night life … free taxi!).
Inside, you will find well-thought-out apartment designs that emphasize open spaces and their advantageous location on the trail. Amenities include the beautiful pool that overlooks the Trail, a bike/treadmill stocked gym and secured private parking in the garage. Social events are focused on Katy Trail runs to keep you in shape! Also, few residences per floor give a very private experience.

L2 Uptown
The L2 is a recently completed mid-rise in the State Thomas area of Uptown. The L2 is just south of the West Village on McKinney Avenue, within walking distance to both. It’s also minutes away walking distance to the nightlife cluster in south uptown on Mckinney, and even has the free McKinney Avenue Trolley running by it for even more ease and convenience.
Inside, the L2 is light and bright, with beautiful, warm apartment designs that have PLENTY of windows and light. The L2 has the biggest outdoor pool area of any place in Uptown (actually 2 separate pool areas), with plenty of chairs and tables to enjoy. L2 is also perfect for a green friendly lifestyle, with a high LEED certification. L2 also has a two-story gym inside, with separate, more private workout rooms. Definitely worth a close look!
Moda
Need jet-quick access to downtown Dallas, D/FW International Airport, and Love Field but still want to enjoy the benefits of Uptown? Check out the Moda. The Moda is also a recently completed smaller mid-rise in the south part of Uptown. It provides walking access to McKinney Avenue nightlife and also the newly complete Whole Foods. It’s a 2 minute walk to the Katy Trail and about 3 minutes to the American Airlines Center to catch the Mavericks, The Stars, and concerts.
I love the more intimate feel of the Moda. It has all of the standard great features you expect inside with Uptown Dallas apartments, such as hardwoods, granite countertops, and more. I also love their views from the pool! Their designs start with affordable studio apartments to 2 bedrooms as well. It’s attracting some amazing people to it. It’s definitely an “in” type of Uptown secret that I’m letting you in on!

Gables Uptown Trail
Would you like to enjoy a quieter part of Uptown without the traffic of busier parts? Then put Gables Uptown Trail should also be on your list to consider. It’s hard to beat being able to grab a super healthy meal at Company Cafe, or relaxing at the Katy Trail Ice House after a run on the Trail. The Gables Uptown Trail is almost next door to these uber popular Uptown choices.
The Gables Uptown Trail also has some of the best one-bedroom apartment designs I have seen, including unique kitchens, iPod-friendly sound systems and beautiful interiors. And the pet park directly connected makes taking care of your pet’s needs easy.
Not so sure these are right for you? You might also want to consider these other Uptown Dallas apartment communities: Gallery at Turtle Creek and the Monterey by Windsor.
Ready to start your search? Keep this final thing in mind: start about 60-90 days in advance to choose from the largest selection of rentals and the best prices. And, give me a shout for any additional questions about the Uptown area. It’s time for your Uptown Dallas year-long “staycation” to begin!
