Several years ago, my family was served a large dose of tragedy. Bernice Edelman was among the first who reached out to me, comforted me, and told me to be strong. I had a new grandbaby who had lost her father, and Bernice took delight in shopping for her. When I learned last weekend that we had lost Bernice, I was heartbroken. Come to think of it, I had not seen her in a while, but then, we haven’t seen many people in a while thanks to COVID-19.

Sweet Bernice had been battling a brain tumor these last few months. Her brother moved into her North Dallas home and took care of her until she passed. Her office manager, Ginger Gill, broke the news to the Ebby Halliday family:

“It is with much sadness that I need to let you all know that our sweet Bernice Edelman has lost her battle with a brain tumor. She left us for heaven last night. It brings a little peace knowing she is no longer trapped in this terrible battle. She will be greatly missed by me, all of the Ebby Preston Center office and countless Real Estate friends and clients.  Bernice was an incredible lady! Please keep Bernice’s brother, David, and the rest of her family in your thoughts and prayers.”

Bernice has long had a place in my heart; she will never be forgotten. Our deepest sympathies to her family, she will be greatly missed. But we know Bernice is up in heaven at this moment, making deals.
