Preston Hollow and Park Cities chosen as launch location for Honey Homes

Saturday is sacred for most Dallasites. After a long work week, this priceless winddown time makes for some of the most precious moments we have. However, for homeowners, the weekends are not always so restful. With the incredible amount of upkeep required for our modern residences, downtime can turn disastrous with the hectic demands of the dreaded honey-do list.

Chores can range from changing air filters to fixing your sliding door. These little nuisances can quickly accumulate and creep up on us when we least expect them. Thankfully, this is 2023 and there’s an app for everything. And while the whole country isn’t yet able to benefit from the easy outsourcing of household maintenance, Preston Hollow and Park Cities are getting to preview a modern hack to the honey-do list.

Meet Honey Homes

Preston Hollow and Park Cities chosen as launch location for Honey Homes.

Founded in Lafayette, California, Honey Homes is a membership service that provides end-to-end home upkeep and maintenance. They match members with a dedicated handyperson who conducts ongoing home improvement and preventative care for a flat monthly fee.

Until now, the service was only available within the Bay Area, but a recent expansion has allowed Park Cities and Preston Hollow to be the next neighborhoods to benefit from this service.

Dallas General Manager, Jeff Gottschall, sat down with daltxrealestate.com to explain more.

“Our marketing team did a lot of research,” said Gottschall. “We put a lot of data on the board and figured out that Dallas would generate the demand we’re looking for. It’s such a vibrant and large city. On top of that, there’s a lot of single-family ownership. It’s a new climate and demographic for us and we believe we’ll see a lot of success here. We’re super excited to call Preston Hollow and Park Cities our second home.”

The startup is hiring its handyperson army and building upon its infrastructure to expand throughout the region.

“We’re looking to expand up to 635 and east and west of the Preston Hollow and Park Cities bubble,” said Gottschall. “There are so many homeowners in this area. As we prove what we need to prove out here in Park Cities, we’ll hire more handypeople and expand membership.”

A Member Perspective

Amanda Smith is a recent member of Honey Homes and was excited to share her experience.

“It used to be difficult to find and schedule experts who could work on our home needs during convenient times,” Smith said.  “What I love about Honey Homes is I can easily schedule regular visits with my handyperson right through their mobile app and have confidence that no job is too big or small.”

Sounds like someone is excited to have her Saturdays back.
