Centurion American now is the proud owner of the Southfork Ranch in Parker.

How do you think J.R. Ewing would react to having neighbors around his beloved Southfork Ranch?

The ranch and mansion that was made famous in the 1970s when Dallas ruled the television airwaves again changed hands this week.

Centurion American deepened its development portfolio by adding the 241-acre Southfork Ranch in the town of Parker for a new neighborhood of custom homes.

What’s Planned For Southfork Ranch?

Custom homes, huh? Can you imagine J.R. looking out his office window at Southfork and his bushy eyebrows furrowing as he watches crews building custom homes on his precious Southfork?

But if it came to it — and J.R. was still around — chances are he’d be happy with designs associated with Centurion American. The Farmers Branch-based developer has built more than 30,000 home sites in North Texas.

“We are looking forward to working with the city of Parker to determine the future of this historic property,” Mehrdad Moayedi, CEO of Centurion American, said in a statement.

“Southfork Ranch is one of the most important and beloved parcels of land in the metroplex with more than 400,000 visitors each year, and we’re proud to lead the team bringing it into its next evolution.”

Centurion’s Refined Hospitality Concepts has been managing Southfork since this summer. Previously, the property was managed by Forever Resorts, whose founder, businessman Rex Maughan, had owned Southfork since 1992.

More Than Just a TV Location

Besides the Dallas series, Southfork has been a family home, a Potter’s House megachurch, a flea market site, and a wedding venue.

Centurion’s development plans for Southfork include “larger residential lots. The size and number will be determined in conjunction with discussions with the city of Parker.”

The developer plans to preserve the landmark house, which should keep the ghost of J.R. happy.
