Williams Trew Real Estate raised money to support Justin’s Place and The Net.

When Williams Trew Real Estate was established by Joan Trew and Martha Williams in 2000, they not only wanted to create a company that would dominate the Tarrant County real estate market, but that would give back to the community as well.

Since the inception of the company, agents of Williams Trew have come together to designate a local charity or non-profit organization to support during the Christmas season. This year two amazing Fort Worth organizations were selected and were recently presented with funds to help their various initiatives.

Justin’s Place

Justin’s Place was created when a local Fort Worth family met a young man, Justin, and his mother who were struggling in life. While the mother was dealing with various issues, the family took Justin into their home and provided care and stability during his high school years. The impact was tremendous on the lives of everyone.

What was learned was that so many women need a helping hand when they are trying to raise their children, take care of personal issues, and dealing with economic hardships. Justin’s Place is there to help teach mothers daily living skills so that they can be the strong, capable mother she’s created to be.

More than just a “quick fix” solution, Justin’s Place is committed to addressing the deeper emotional and spiritual issues to help them transform their lives and connect meaningfully with their families. The organization walks alongside families to help them build a foundation that will be lifelong and life-changing.

Justin’s Place strives to impact the life of a child by empowering moms to grow mentally, spiritually, and physically, live a life free of crisis, and walk out of generational poverty.

Justin’s Place is currently working on building The Nest — a 24-unit, 12 duplex restorative community for single mothers and their families. Within six months of starting the program, mothers must be working towards some type of accreditation, job training, or working full time with a goal of affording market rent or homeownership by program graduation.

The Net

If you knew the statics of human trafficking, prostitution, and exploitation that occurs daily in your own city, you would be horrified. It is not something that only happens in movies, large cities, or in foreign lands where governments turn a blind eye. Women — many times young girls — are regularly in danger of being exploited, abused, and traumatized for the pleasure and gain of others. This horrific behavior is probably happening right down the street from where you are reading this report.

The Net addresses sex trafficking and exploitation and supports survivors because everyone is worthy of the chance to rebuild their lives. The Net goes beyond giving money and a pat on the back to survivors of sex trafficking. The organization was created to provide a supportive community, committed to walk alongside women as they rebuild their lives and go forward in freedom.

The Net offers programs for men — to eliminate the demand for commercial sex in Fort Worth and beyond and to teach men that objectifying women by purchasing women and children for sexual pleasure is not okay and will not be tolerated.

One initiative of The Net is The Worth Co. — a store in Fort Worth that employs survivors of trafficking, prostitution and addiction as they learn skills, gain work experience, and earn a legitimate income. The women produce hand-made products that can be purchased at the store or online, and 100 percent of the proceeds go directly back into sustaining the program.

If you are looking for last-minute Christmas ideas, I encourage you to visit The Worth Co. They have wonderfully crafted jewelry and candles that not only make for great gifts but are supporting women who have been through an unimaginable journey, but are now on the road to recovery and health.
