The MetroTex Association of Realtors recently celebrated a big occasion — breaking ground on the organization’s first-ever brand new building.

“Our groundbreaking was a collective big day for members and staff with MetroTex,” said Bill Jordan, 2021 MetroTex president. “The planning and preparation for this project has been taking place for over five years.  We wanted to make the best investment we could for current and future real estate professionals.”

Building a headquarters for such a strategically important regional resource was a tall order. MetroTex, which is recognized nationally as one of the leading local Realtor associations, wanted to build a new headquarters that would serve as a showcase of the organization’s professionalism, innovation, and focus on exceptional service to its members.

“We currently serve over 24,000 members,” Jordan said. “The demand for a first-class facility will be answered by the building that we are constructing.”

The ceremony marks a bricks-and-mortar milestone for MetroTex that is the result of a collaborative planning effort that required hard work and coordination by several partners.

The new facility will sit on 10 acres at 1701 Kinwest Parkway in Irving. The property has wetlands and a stream, while the building itself will have an abundance of glass and natural light.  Design work is underway on the new 30,000-plus-square-foot building.

“When we began this journey, we wanted to have our new home to be a place where members couldn’t wait to come back to!” said MetroTex CEO Janet Kane. “I’m confident that this project accomplishes that goal.  I can’t say enough, how proud I am of the team we’ve brought together, to bring the envisioned project to life!”
