Hurry Before This Cliff May California Ranch Blows Off The Market

We love Cliff May California ranch houses. They are a shining example of everything that is right about Midcentury Modern architecture and how it’s possible to take the same floor plan and still create amazing diversity. When one hits the market, you better get there fast.

For a long time, no one realized that Casa View Oaks was a treasure trove of these classic homes. But with the inevitable gentrification of the neighborhood, a new generation realized these Cliff May California ranch homes were ideal and started renovating them.

Stephanie and Brad Ray were stalking another house in the neighborhood but just missed out on it. They were keen to have a Cliff May ranch, so their Realtor put out in an alert for homes in the area. “We got to this house an hour after it hit the market and purchased it immediately,” Stephanie said.

Stephanie is a photographer, so very visual. She was not interested in getting into major home renovations. The fact this house had a good foundation, great bones, and she could put her stamp on it was immensely appealing. They painted the walls and beams of the 1,464-square-foot home, two-bedroom house, and renovated the two bathrooms.

“One of the things I learned about Cliff May California ranch homes is they all have the patent-pending stamp on the boards in the walls,” Stephanie said. “We had to take one out when we were remodeling the bathroom. We kept it, and it’s the centerpiece of our kitchen island now.”

The Rays also redid the backyard. “When we bought the house, the yard had original pavers, and that’s about it,” Stephanie said. “It’s my oasis now. I go out there after everyone is in bed and look at my plants in the twilight.” It’s also an excellent yard for two-year-old Jack and their pup Marley. “It’s a huge backyard and like a little Olympic track for Jack. It’s a real perk for someone with a child or a dog.”

“One of the main things that we love about living here is our neighbor’s,” Stephanie said. “All the Cliff May homeowners have gravitated towards each other and formed a close-knit community of friends. I’m not sure I can get that anywhere else, and I’m going to miss it. We even have an Andrea land and Millmar Road Facebook page.

If it were not for Brad’s transfer to Fort Worth, the Rays would never leave their wonderful home and community of fellow Cliff May friends. But that does mean you have an opportunity to nab this great house at 2628 Andrea Lane. Local Resident Realty’s Beth Arnold has it listed for $285,000. I know you are about to spit out your coffee because that’s a terrific price. Call Beth and see it Saturday!
