McKinney Ranks At Top of Best Places for First-Time Buyers

Nearly 40 percent of 2018’s single-family home purchases were made by first-time buyers — with some places being more friendly to those new to the market than others. McKinney ranked 10th among 300 cities WalletHub looked at in regards to how amenable they were for first-time buyers.

The Collin County town ranked 160th when it came to affordability, but scored top marks for its market and 45th for quality of life.

Frisco followed not far behind at 13th.

When it came to breakdown by city size, Fort Worth came in 10th for large cities, with Arlington clocking in at 27th, and Dallas at 44th. McKinney was 5th for midsize cities, with Plano at 19th, Grand Prairie at 27th, Irving at 48th, and Garland at 54th.

In small cities, Carrollton was 26th, Denton was 30th, Richardson 41st, and Allen 44th.
