You may be thrilled about pumpkin-flavored everything to hit the shelves, but us here at daltxrealestate.com are over the moon about the return of fall home tour season. Yes, we’ll still hit up a Starbucks for our annual pumpkin spice latte, but nothing quite says “autumn is here!” to us like traipsing through other people’s homes with those weird little hospital booties on.

To help you plan, we’ve compiled a list of can’t miss home tours for this fall. It skews heavily toward midcentury modern and covers quite a bit of territory:

Modern Mile

This is the second annual Modern Mile Dallas Home Tour, and we couldn’t be more excited about the homes on this year’s follow-up on last year’s wildly popular tour covering just one square mile. The Oct. 1 tour, which costs $15 for early bird tickets and $20 on the day of the tour, runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will show of some truly magnificent midcentury designs. Just like last year, the Modern Mile home tour will benefit Walnut Hill Elementary School. Buy tickets online here.

Casa View Cliff May Home Tour

On Oct. 15, the third-largest collection of Cliff May-designed midcentury modern homes will have their coming out party at the inaugural Casa View Cliff May Home Tour. While part of us is sad that this hidden gem of a neighborhood in East Dallas is about to blow up, we couldn’t be more stoked to see the tour pull down some dough for a good cause — the Greater Casa View Alliance. Tickets to this home tour, which includes seven of Cliff May’s California cool designs, are $10 and available here.

Preservation Dallas Fall Architectural Tour

If you’re a historic home aficionado, you will likely recognize several stops on this year’s Preservation Dallas Fall Architectural Tour slated for Oct. 29. The tour includes some incredible design spanning all sorts of styles and vernaculars, including the incredible Vaughan House. You’ll also get the chance to tour the Cupaioli House, which was purchased by preservationists last year and still contains the original steel Geneva kitchen cabinets. Tickets are $40 per person for Preservation Dallas members and $50 for non members. You can buy them now here.

AIA Dallas Tour of Homes

Has Dallas entered its own golden age of modern residential architecture? One has to wonder considering how many incredible, ground-breaking homes made it onto the 2016 AIA Dallas Tour of Homes. Our favorite has to be the Vanderbilt residence designed by renowned architect Russell Buchanan. This home is such a delicious amalgam of lines and textures, light and space, that you cannot help but fall for its charms. The tour, which features nine stunning homes, runs from Oct. 29 to Oct. 30 with tickets priced at $25 apiece in advance and $30 at the door, though walk-up admission to a single tour stop is $10 per home. You can buy them here.

The Vickery Place Home Tour will include stops at real homes, not watercolors.

Vickery Place Fall Home Tour

Celebrate the diversity and nostalgia of Vickery Place on Nov. 5 with the neighborhood’s Fall Home Tour. From Craftsmans and Tudors to modern Prairie-style homes, prepare to be awash in the architectural treasures of this well-loved East Dallas neighborhood. More details are coming about this tour, which will feature six homes throughout the neighborhood. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the tour, with proceeds benefiting Robert E. Lee Elementary School. You can purchase tickets here.

Lakewood Home Festival

It’s practically an institution, with a weekend-long series of exciting events that make up the Lakewood Home Festival. Our favorite part, naturally is the home tour, which runs Nov. 12 – 13 this year. It’s a great opportunity to get to know one of our favorite Dallas neighborhoods and to support the campuses it serves, from Lakewood Elementary to J.L. Long Middle School to Woodrow Wilson High School. Details and ticket sales are forthcoming, so stay tuned!
