The Warrington is the backdrop for daltxrealestate.com’s latest Staff Meeting home showcase. On Sept. 22 we’ll be celebrating four impressive units at The Warrington condos on Turtle Creek. If you missed the first two properties you can catch up here and here (but don’t let it happen again!).
Our third property is 18E, and it’s also the largest. It boasts 3,052 square feet of space containing three bedrooms with two full and one half bathrooms. It’s listed with Jason Garcia and Grant Vancleve with Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s for $1,199,000.
It’s probably a pinch too large for my own needs, but the window space, balconies and high floor conspire to quicken my pulse.
Oh, did I not mention it’s also a corner unit? Yeah, I wanted to surprise you. This is the kind of space that seals deals … whatever they may be. Even a Plano-size sofa would be lost in this room. A quick power wash of the balcony ceiling and a change-out of the dated track lighting and bingo-bango … helloooo 2017.
Oops, my bad, I forgot to say it’s a BIG pretty wrap-around corner at that. The living room windows continue into the dining room and kitchen. Plenty o’ space here for entertaining. If conversation lags, you can always talk endlessly about the view. And look, the kitchen is open also.
I think I’d spend a few bucks here. Swap out the black appliances with stainless steel and replace the under-counter fluorescents with LEDs. I like the cabinets and pulls but I might remove those shorty upper cabinets on the right to open the kitchen more. (I mean, what do you store up there anyway? Holiday junk? Fondue set?)
Secondary bedroom turned office … again with the corner. Good built-ins and plenty of space for bed or desk. I know it’s staged, but I like the desk (very Space 1999) and its placement overseeing Turtle Creek.
Generous master bedroom with more windows and balcony space. Again ditch the track lighting and add either a sliding barn door or spring for the real pocket door for the bathroom (left). The doorway size is great for natural light in a high-rise bathroom but a pinch of privacy, please. The smaller door you see inside the bathroom is walk-in the master closet.
The Warrington really likes its big bathrooms, which is as unusual as it is wonderful in a high-rise. This one could use a little less mirror (I don’t wanna see quite so much of myself). The Carrera marble has the same bold veining you’ll find at the Ritz (cool) and the vanity is enormous. As you can see in one of the reflections, there’s a built-in linen closet also.
Pop some comfy chairs out here with a bottle of wine and you’re all set. If you’re a cook like me, fill some pots with herbs for help in the kitchen but also for some nice aromatic wafts. Power wash that beam though.
I like 18E. It’s high, well styled, and well laid out. It’s got the windows and accompanying views you buy a high-rise for. There are some minor niggles I’d change to make it “my” home, but nothing that would frighten the animals … or my checkbook.
