Dallas-based hospitality company WoodHouse is planning a $70 million investment to upgrade the legendary T Bar M Racquet Club on Dilbeck Lane.
They have quite the track record: WoodHouse is co-owner of the exclusive private social club Park House Dallas located in Highland Park Village, with a membership wait list of 6,000.
Plans for the North Dallas tennis center include a renovation of the 13-acre campus and a dramatic reimagining of the overall club experience. The renovation, set to kick off later this year, will serve as the first in the club’s history.
WoodHouse, which acquired the club in 2021, looks to make T Bar M one of the country’s premier, members-only social and athletic clubs.
“We are thrilled and honored to steward T Bar M into its next chapter,” said Brady Wood, WoodHouse founder and CEO. “There is an incredible legacy and potential here. Our aim is to pair the unmatched tennis experience that already happens at T Bar M, with world-class social, culinary, and wellness amenities that are unlike anything else that exists in Texas.”
Renovation Experience
San Antonio-based architecture firm Lake | Flato, Los Angeles-based interior design firm Commune, and Dallas-based landscape architecture firm Hocker are spearheading the renovation project.
Commune has been consistently included in the AD 100 and Elle Décor A-List as well as received a number of awards including the Cooper Hewitt National Design Award for Interior Design.
Construction will commence in phases and include the building of a new, 20,000-square-foot clubhouse, multiple restaurant and bar concepts, a resort-style pool, a dedicated pickleball pavilion, new spa and fitness facilities, improved tennis and padel facilities, experiential retail concept and pro shop, and two stadium-style courts.
The future T Bar M experience will combine all the elements of how modern individuals and families live, work, and play, WoodHouse officials said in a press release. Added programming, events, and membership benefits will be a major focus of the new club experience and encompass a range of interests from racquet sports and wellness to fashion and design, culinary arts and mixology, fine art, culture, and more.
The new vision will also include an expansion of family-friendly events, programming, and dedicated areas for children of all ages.
In a tribute to T Bar M’s rich legacy, the new vision will include an investment in the club’s junior program and academy, making it one of the nation’s best training programs for youth tennis.
