Preston Center Pop-Up is featuring a candle and jewelry event, tomorrow, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Tucked away just south of Northwest Highway west of Preston Road there’s an easy-to-miss street named Kate. Those lucky enough to have discovered this hidden gem — literally — know it’s home to Skibell Fine Jewelry, a trusted Dallas go-to known for its curated collections and exceptional customer service.

Just a few doors down is Carrie Ryan-Crosland’s three-year-old Preston Center Pop-up, a shopping destination for vendors to showcase their products in a retail environment sans the long lease and demanding hours.

“It’s a tremendous opportunity for designers from all over world to showcase their wares in a quick, two- to three-day showing,” said Carrie.

Tomorrow Carrie and Lyn are teaming up with Palm Beach-based Redolence Gems candle-maker Eve Short. Join them from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. for a candle and jewelry pop-up featuring the best of both.

The Candles

Anyone not familiar with the luxury candle brand is in for a treat. Eve hand-makes them out of natural coconut and apricot soy oil, which burns cleaner and longer than any other type of candle. Signature scents include pine, fig, tuberose, and magnolia.

The icing on the cake: decorative vessels topped with gem- and crystal-studded wooden lids. Each comes packaged in a linen bag handcrafted in Columbia.

Just ask long-time fan Gina Cerullo.

The savvy Compass Realtor gifts a customized version to clients along with her quarterly reach-outs.

“I love them because they are unique,” said Gina. “I did all amethyst crystals because purple is my favorite color.”

She also worked hand-in-hand with Eve to create the fragrance. “We mixed them together to come up with a universally appealing scent,” she added.

The Jewels

Lyn will be featuring a curated assortment for both men and women. Among the featured collections: Samuel B, an award-winning line combining the beauty of nature and the ancient traditions of Balinese and Thai craftsmanship.

Featured jewelry collections include: Samuel B (above) and Melissa Spencer (below).

Local jewelry designer Melissa Spencer will also be making a personal appearance. Her eponymous line includes personalized jewelry created through a proprietary process of projecting an image into natural gemstones.

“The Spencer Portrait collection has been hugely successful for us,” said Lyn. “Pieces are personal, authentic, and collectible —all elements of the perfect gift.”

Skibell is also offering pop-up attendees a certificate for a complimentary upcoming professional jewelry appraisal. Additional services include design/repurposing, consignment, and repairs.

Preston Center Pop-Up is located adjacent to Starbucks at 8411 Preston Road, Suite 101, on the Kate Street Side. The area, formerly known as Berkshire Court, is now Preston Financial Center.
