Tight Quarters For Your Super Bowl Party? This Midlothian Stunner Will Fix That

Confession: I’ve been eyeballing this Midlothian stunner for a couple of weeks now, ever since the folks at Blackwood Homes began giving peeks of it on Facebook. I’m telling you — this Midlothian stunner is the answer to your Super Bowl party woes.

Tucked back on 3.75 acres and on a cul-de-sac, you can’t get more private than this four-bedroom, three-and-a-half bath home at 3290 Brads Way. Built in 2004, an investor purchased it and turned to Blackwood Homes to renovate it and polish it, and they’ve created a gem.

Blackwood Homes is almost your one-stop shop — they stage, they renovate, and they do post-construction and make ready cleanup, too, working with investors to bring that diamond in the rough they just purchased to market — and that includes this Midlothian home.

The Contemporary Farmhouse wows from the front door, with a living space that takes advantage of the tall ceilings and large windows. An oversized stone fireplace creates an instant focal point, but designer Jennifer Townes (who owns Blackwood with fellow designer Sarah Nowak and Paul Rodgers, working with senior architect Danny Nowak as well) didn’t just let the fireplace do all the heavy lifting when it came to drama, emphasizing the tall ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and wood beams with a grand spiral light fixture that brings the eye up, but doesn’t distract.

“We did the design and renovation for an investor,” Sarah Nowak said. “Jennifer was the lead designer and project manager.”

And that open floor plan, combined with elegant fixtures and finishes, means you can feel comfortable hosting a swanky dinner party, or you know, a loud, queso-fueled Super Bowl party.

A gorgeous — and generously sized – gourmet kitchen just off the great room boasts a beautiful copper sink, white, bright finishes, and is close enough to the action that you can still hear your uncle curse about the Patriots, but tucked back enough that nobody needs to see the mess 10 pounds of brisket can make in a kitchen.

And since it’s Texas, and it could easily be 80 degrees or frozen solid come Super Bowl Sunday, it’s always nice to know that you also have a huge back patio that is perfect for barbecues, and could easily provide a bit more space for the folks (you know who you are) who like to talk during the game more than watch the game, and only really care about the commercials.

But uh, I have another confession. I didn’t just love this house because of the entertaining space. I also love the master suite. It’s huge. It’s relaxing.  And the en suite is a vision. Seriously, that tub. That copper tub, with a fireplace.

“My favorite things about this house are the fireplace over the copper tub in the master, the marble look quartz throughout, the hardwood floors, the dramatic beams … okay, I LOVE it all!” said Townes.

There is also a room attached to the master that could serve as a study, a nursery, exercise room, or even a dressing room. Upstairs, there are three more huge bedrooms, more bathrooms, and a media or game room (so when the kids get tired of watching the game, you can always set up another viewing of Moana).

The home is listed for $479,900 by Krissy Mireles with Holmquist & Associates Realty.
