This week, we’d like to show you three open houses, all homes that are at least 75 years old or more, all updated and move in ready for their next family.

Every Thursday, we bring you our pick of the hottest North Texas properties in our Daltxrealestate.com Open Houses of the Week. Which one will you choose?

1913 Vickery Place Craftsman

This beautiful Craftsman in Vickery Place, built in 1913, has certainly seen enough to be considered historic. And it’s been well-cared for in the ensuing years as well.

From the curb, a wraparound front porch at 5343 Richard Ave. greets visitors. Inside, a formal dining room topped by an antique chandelier reminds you of the grand dinner parties the home has hosted.

A beautiful kitchen has all the current creature comforts, yet melds well with the historical aspects of the home, with its granite countertops, island, pantry, double oven, and gas cooktop, as well as the bright breakfast nook.

The three-bedroom, three bath home has a bedroom and bathroom downstairs, and the master (with en suite) and a third bedroom and bathroom upstairs. A study and utility room are also upstairs.

The generous master bedroom features a bay window and a master en suite with the original claw foot bathtub.

In the backyard, a custom cedar pergola shades a flagstone patio with built-in gas grill.

The home is zoned for the Woodrow Wilson feeder pattern, including Geneva Heights Elementary.

The 2,656 square foot home is listed for $775,000 by Matthew Edwards with Dave Perry-Miller-Preston Center.

1925 Kessler Tudor Walking Distance to Stevens Park

c831ccec8c6958e2afafc1322d809764l-m1xd-w1020_h770_q80Open house: Saturday, Feb. 2, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

If you’re in the market for a historic home and a walkable neighborhood with great schools, this 1925 Tudor in North Oak Cliff may just be the ticket.

The four-bedroom, three bath home at 1039 N. Edgefield Ave. is in the heart of Kessler, and within walking distance to Stevens Park, and is close to ever-popular Bishop Arts, too. It’s also zoned for both Rosemont Elementary and Rosemont Middle schools.

Although updated, the stunning home has married gorgeous period details like archways, leaded windows, hardwood floors, and a big front porch with modern touches like a chef’s eat-in kitchen with marble countertops and stainless steel appliances.

New window treatments with wood plantation shutters may be recent, but they blend seamlessly with the historical elements of the home.

A spacious master includes an en suite with a double shower, too.

Outside, a heated pool with spa is ready for summer pool parties.

The 2,854 square foot home is listed for $699,900, by Mark Brady with klm Real Estate.

Midway Hollow Traditional Farmhouse Built in 1938

c831ccec8c6958e2afafc1322d809764l-m1xd-w1020_h770_q80Open house: Saturday, Feb. 2, and Sunday, Feb. 3, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

It’s one of the oldest — and with a build date of 1938, possibly the oldest at this point — homes in Midway Hollow, but Villa Blanca, located at 4154 Clover Lane, is the kind of sanctuary that you don’t find often on that side of Midway — gated, sitting on more than a half acre, and lush with green grass, gardens, and trees.

And to top it off, you’d never guess how close you are to easy shopping (the new Central Market is a quick hop down Midway Road), great dining (Fernando’s, Howard Wang, Mi Camino, and Bugatti), and even two choices of parks.

The expansive front yard boasts a koi pond and courtyard, plus a welcoming farm-style porch. Walk through the red doors and you enter the three-bedroom, three bath home with oversized windows, rich wood floors, and a careful blend of traditional and modern finishes.

Generous bedrooms and bathrooms (including a showstopper of a master) provide comfort for guests — or a family. Outside, a large pool and spa with cabana, patio, greenhouse, and herb garden will provide plenty of reasons to linger outdoors.

The home is zoned for the award-winning (and nominated to be a Blue Ribbon School) Walnut Hill Elementary, and is listed for $1,195,000 by RoseMarie LaCoursiere with Ebby Halliday-Preston Center.
