Lake Forest is one of our rare gated luxury neighborhoods. Certainly, we have plenty of beautiful homes in Dallas, but start looking for options where your privacy and security are ensured, and there are woefully very few, especially south of Interstate 635.

Lake Forest History
For you newbies to Dallas, I offer a little history lesson. Lake Forest was originally the Forest Hills Golf Club. In the early 1970s, it was sold to become the corporate headquarters for Ross H. Perot’s Electronic Data Systems (EDS). Of course, companies move, and when EDS headed north, this became prime territory for real estate development.
What is mind-blowing is that in 1996 developers were so forward-thinking. They set aside 68 acres of the 177 parcel for amenities like jogging trails, lakes, and a swimming pool. Trees were preserved or relocated, which was unheard of at the time and is still highly neglected by community developers today. And it was to be gated, with a guard. It was as if the developers had a crystal ball.

That’s why it’s always exciting when a luxury property becomes available in Lake Forest, and this one is exceptional. From the dramatic two-story foyer to the expansive great room with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the private outdoor entertaining area, this is modern family living at its finest.

The downstairs primary suite features a fireplace and looks out on 10 mature Magnolia trees that enclose the outdoor patio. What is truly striking about this home is the forethought that went into construction. An elevator was built to access the three additional upstairs ensuite bedrooms, game room, media room, and an additional living area. When you think about storing suitcases and ski gear upstairs, you realize how necessary an elevator has become. Features such as an elevator aren’t the only things that elevate this home. The roof is a stone-coated Tilcor Shake roof, there’s a leak detection system, and a three-car garage, one of which is climate controlled.

Of course, Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate listing agent Laura Michelle went the extra mile with this luxury home and had it staged by George Bass Stage and Design. It makes such a difference when you can walk into a home and not have to figure out if your furniture will fit!

The gated community amenities kept expanding and now include tennis and pickle ball courts, and dog parks.

Michelle has 7033 Hill Forest offered for $2.895 million.
