They’re Doing Something Right as Ebby Halliday Companies Agents Celebrate Anniversaries

When it comes to romantic relationships, the ones that last the longest are built on the twin concepts of partnership and mutual respect. Work relationships, on the other hand, which should also be built on those concepts, don’t last a lifetime (at least not anymore). So it’s quite unusual – and refreshing – when you hear of some that endure well beyond the average four-year stay that is typical of American workers today.

Here’s a story of lasting well beyond. Like … well, well beyond. Twelve seasoned real estate professionals and staff from the Ebby Halliday Companies marked 25 years of tenure at one place in a celebration that took place Sept. 13. They gathered along with Sales Leaders and Home Office executives at Al Biernat’s North in Addison for a special celebratory lunch. At current count, the Ebby Halliday Companies (comprising Ebby Halliday Realtors, Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate, and Williams Trew), can boast an additional 94 active agents and staff who have already celebrated 25-year anniversaries.

Celebrating 25 years this year, are front row from left, Linda Christensen of Ebby Rockwall; Frances Egan of Ebby Rockwall; Paige Elliott of Dave Perry-Miller Park Cities; and Sherry Smith of Ebby Texomaland. Back row from left, Malinda Howell of the Ebby Home Office; JoAnn Tyler of Ebby Plano West; Lee Conte-Vaughn of Ebby DFW Northwest; Tonya Riggs of Ebby McKinney; Roya Daugherty of Dave Perry-MIller InTown; and Carolyn Rosson of the Ebby Home Office. Not pictured: Patti Moore of Ebby Southlake; Shelbi Ronnau of Ebby 190 – Richardson; and Erika Wood of Ebby Plano.

With so many brokerages in a happening region like North Texas, it makes you wonder: What is the secret sauce to retention?

Top-producing Dave Perry-Miller agent Paige Elliott, who was fêted at the event, had a thought.

“For me, it’s working every day with people who challenge me but also have my back,” Elliott said. “Twenty-five years of anything speaks to dedication, but also loyalty – something you don’t see as much anymore. I started as an individual and now work with a group of amazing agents in the Elliott & Elliott Group. Thank you to Lee Thomas for hiring me all those many years ago – he celebrated 25 years in 2022! This has been a good place for me to be.”

Malinda Brownlee Howell followed in the footsteps of her late father Woody, also an Ebby Halliday agent and an industry leader. About celebrating 25 years at the same brokerage, she said, “I am so honored to have served in many capacities over my 25-year career from real estate agent to Sales Leader to Regional Vice President and now Senior Vice President of Brokerage. What I have loved and cherished about this iconic company is that it has been a career that has offered me so many opportunities. The Ebby name has opened so many doors for me, and I am forever grateful. I also am thoroughly impressed to see throughout the entire organization the loyalty to the brand and all it stands for.”

Carolyn Rosson herself has risen through the ranks from rookie agent to President and CEO today. “Our firm’s longevity and success stem from a culture of trust, stability, and opportunity,” Rosson said. “Over nearly eight decades, we’ve cultivated an environment where employees and Realtors feel valued, heard, and empowered. Our commitment to professional growth, ongoing training, and a collaborative atmosphere fosters a sense of loyalty. Moreover, the deep-rooted reputation and history of our firm in the industry provide a strong foundation for career stability and growth, making it a compelling choice for those seeking a long-lasting and rewarding career.”
