March Madness is back and basketball fans couldn’t be more excited. Two years ago, the mushrooming pandemic canceled the beloved single-elimination tournament. And last year, it returned, albeit in a limited capacity.

We say hooray for the madness — not to mention the normalcy. In the spirit of the season, here are six impressive residential basketball courts worthy of even the loftiest hoop dreams.

Michael Jordan’s Estate, Highland Park, Ill.

(Compass)

According to the Compass listing, the 32,683-square-foot, seven-acre contemporary-style mansion is as “legendary as His Airness himself.” It’s definitely a sports lover’s dream. In addition to the regulation-sized basketball gymnasium, there’s a tennis court, putting green, and a circular infinity pool.

The $14.85 million asking price has special significance — the digits add up to Jordan’s playing-career uniform number of 23. (It’s also front and center on the home’s wrought iron gates.) Other features include a 14-car garage and cigar room.

Somma Estate, Bel-Air, Calif.

This Spanish-style villa sports one seriously chic court — think ultra-high coffered ceilings, recessed lighting, black walls, and a Samsung video board. The space also seamlessly transforms into a ballroom.

A seemingly endless list of amenities includes an auto gallery, wine cellar, and state-of-the-art theater complete with tiered seating for 36. And did we mention the wellness floor (yes, floor!)? Along with a fully-equipped gym, there’s a 75-foot lap pool, stone steam room, oak sauna, and ice-bath.

The price tag for all this fabulousness? An equally fabulous $78 million.

Southampton Estate, N.Y.

(Douglas Elliman)

This two-story court opens up to a tricked-out gym equipped with Keiser weight machine, Peloton, and treadmill. Or maybe hit a few balls on the sunken tennis court or take a dip in one of the estate’s two pools. Prefer the ocean? No problem. Cooper’s Beach is just moments away.

(Douglas Elliman)

As befitting a tony Hampton estate, there’s also a billiards room, 1100-bottle wine cellar, and hotel-worthy spa. Or to really impress your friends, there’s what the Douglas Elliman listing calls the “crown jewel” — an outdoor theater with a 15- by 9-foot LED screen emerging from an in-ground vault.

Get your guest list ready. This can all be yours for $33.9 million.

New York City Townhouse, N.Y.

Prefer city living? This 11,100-square-foot, seven-story townhouse is on a choice Upper West Side block just a short walk to Central Park.

There’s even room for a half basketball court featuring double-height ceilings, polished maple wood, and baseline and end-line markings. Also in the basement: a full arcade and game room, gym, and temperature-controlled wine storage room.

An offering like this does not come along often, states the Sotheby’s International Realty listing. Snap it up for $25,975 million.

Shaquille O’Neal Estate, Orlando, Fla.

This Shaq-sized four-acre mega manse sold last fall for $11 million. We assume current homeowners are basketball aficionados, considering the 6,000-square-foot Miami Heat-themed court.

And when they’re not shooting hoops? The home also sports a 95-foot-long swimming pool (dubbed “Shaq-apulco”), custom theater, cigar room, recording studio, and 17-car auto gallery complete with Superman logo.

Mark Molthan University Park Home, Dallas

(Platinum Series Homes)

We’d be remiss not to include the multi-faceted garage of renowned Dallas Platinum Series homebuilder Mark Mothan. This 2,880-square-foot recreational space was designed for basketball, pickleball, and lacrosse practice. But that’s just the beginning. By night, it can be turned into a party space — or even a six-car garage.

“We have learned in the past couple of years that rooms need to become more flexible and versatile,” says Molthan. “This room checks that box.”
