Many of our home buyers ask us here at DALTX, what are the best neighborhoods around Dallas? Usually, we would ask back, what are your needs? Everybody’s needs are different. And each city has its own pros and cons. Some want to live in a city that’s host to the best schools for their children, others want to be close to the best hospitals, and some want to live in the best environment. On average, the prospective homebuyer wants everything: the best schools, the best hospitals, the best environment, complete facilities, and, of course, affordable housing prices.

We live in Dallas, Texas, and we certainly know what neighborhoods are like around where we live. We did have a casual discussion today about what really is the best city around Forth-worth, Dallas, with the DALTX team. After drawing on a long discussion and a little debate, our choice fell on…. Southlake City! Of all the great neighborhoods in and around the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Southlake stands head and shoulders above the rest.

So what’s so special about this city?

Hospitals

Southlake has top medical facilities. This includes a Baylor Scott & White Medical Center and Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southlake.

Environment

Southlake offers serene, affluent living. The city is typified with large homes on sizable lots and low crime rates, making it suitable for raising a family. Many parks and ponds pock the area with many for outdoor activity and serenity.

Schools

Southlake is known for its top-ranked public school. They have The Carroll Independent School District (v) , which is one of the greatest in the state and attains a perfect rating of 10 out of 10 through GreatSchools. This school district has become known not just for academic excellence but also athletic achievement, making it one sure way to get each student prepared and geared toward higher education.

Shopping & Dining

At the heart of Southlake’s city is Southlake Town Square, an outdoor shoppers’ haven. This central hub features high-end retailers, boutiques, and a wide variety of dining options that make this place one of the hotspots for visitors across the Dallas-Fort Worth area. What brought it to be in demand locally was the blend of upscale retail paired with local eateries.

Strategic Location

Located between Downtown Dallas and Fort Worth, Southlake city has easy access to both. Its location offers the advantages of suburban life without missing out on all the amenities and opportunities that a large metropolitan area has to offer.

Real Estate

The types of real estate in Southlake are varied to many budgets. Home prices range between the mid-$200,000 to over $3 million for luxury estates and more modest, really.. really reasonably priced housing. This diversification makes it possible for anyone to live in Southlake.

Family-Friendly

There are many events and activities throughout the year that are geared toward families in the city. This creates a warm, inviting atmosphere for each homebuyer. Furthermore, neighbors know each other and often come out for local activities.

From the brief points above, Southlake stands as a city that best suits home seekers in the suburbs of Dallas. Guess what? Most of our team live in Southlake! And they are very glad to be living there. Take time on your day off and go visit the city of Southlake if you are still curious.
