Sense of Neighborly Community Is Strong at the Courts of Willow Creek in Saginaw

The Courts of Willow Creek in Northwest Tarrant County was established in 1999 with a strong community concept in mind.

The Saginaw neighborhood is within walking distance of Willow Creek Park, and resident Karalyn Martin moved to the community seven-and-a-half years ago, in part, because of that fact.

“Initially what attracted me to the neighborhood was the school district,” Martin said. “At the time, my kids were not old enough to attend school, but thinking about their future I wanted them to have the opportunity to attend a school district that had a great reputation like Eagle Mountain ISD. You could tell by all the trees that it was a well-established neighborhood as well.

“It’s convenient to get to local grocery stores and shopping, and I think the most appealing thing is that it is located right off of the Willow Creek Park.”

Martin said the park offers a number of amenities, such as a Switchyard where bands play, along with movie nights, food trucks, two tennis courts, multiple playgrounds, multiples pavilions, a small dog park, a large breed dog park, a gazebo, a softball field, a volleyball court, disc golf, a large versatile playground and a 3-mile fitness track.

The Courts of Willow Creek include homes that range in size from 1,743 square feet to 3,042 square feet and range in price from $350,000 to $410,000.

According to the homeowner’s association’s web site, the layout of the subdivision encourages not only an ideal neighborhood atmosphere, but also creates interaction between neighbors.

Martin said she has personally observed this phenomenon on a daily basis.

“I have the pleasure of watching the same friendly neighbors walk the neighborhood at all times of the day, sometimes by themselves and sometimes with their significant other,  their dogs, or with their children,” Martin said. “And the neighbors are friendly. We really do look after each other because some residents are elderly or live at home alone. Someone is always looking out. We have a great HOA and a community pool. We are blessed to live right off Willow Creek Park, which is really the heart of Saginaw. And we can walk to the new playground that was built for the community.”

The Courts of Willow Creek participates in a variety of community events, including a Polar Plunge, which is a fundraiser for the Saginaw Animal Shelter.

The community also takes part in a city-wide Easter egg hunt that has the local PD and firefighters out at the park, and there is an annual Independence Day celebration and fireworks show.

Martin said she would recommend her neighborhood to anyone who is looking for a safe and friendly place to raise a family.

“I would just encourage people to do their homework and look up the history of the town, observe our low crime rate, investigate the school district, and look on the city’s website at all the great things Saginaw has to offer,” Martin said. “It has grown a lot in the time I have been here. It gives you just enough small-town vibes with access to the big city. It is a great place to live and raise your children. I am grateful we chose the Courts of Willow Creek to raise our children. There are a lot of youth sports opportunities along with adult sports and activities…it’s the epitome of community, and I am blessed to live here.”
