Put This Traditional Georgian Mansion On Santa’s Nice List!

Nothing feels more like home than a traditional Georgian mansion. That’s no doubt because it was the predominant style favored within the colonies in the 1700s.

The preservationist in me is happy to say thousands of these original homes survive today. The traditional Georgian style has also been one of the most widely copied architectural styles over the years. That distinctive All-American look ensures lasting popularity.

For those house hunters from other states looking online and getting FaceTime walk-throughs, let me assure you this traditional Georgian mansion is all you hoped for and more, with three significant attributes.

First, this stately home sits on just under an acre with landscaping designed for privacy in the heart of one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Dallas — Preston Hollow.

In the late 1920s and early 1930s, Preston Hollow was developed from 56- acres of farmland purchased by Ira P. DeLoache.  He partnered with Al Joyce to provide homes for the movers and shakers of the city.

Second, not much has not changed, except the movers and shakers are now international. You’ll find politicians, business executives, and of course, notable athletes living here. Don’t be surprised if you run into former President George W. Bush or Mavericks player Dirk Nowitzki at the local Starbucks.

Third, it’s just the right size for a large family, with 13,236 square feet, seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, and a powder bath. There are also two playrooms, a separate media room, a study, a gym, a wine cellar, and separate guest quarters. An elevator will take you to all three levels so you can easily whisk the luggage upstairs from the five-car garage, which features three lifts. You can park up to eight cars inside this baby.
