Auctioneer And RealtorFirst, But Not Last in the Family

Kyle Dykes with his wife, Emily, and son Leo. Dykes is known as one quick-talking Realtor.

When he was a young boy, Kyle Dykes recalls going to live animal auctions with his grandad. Sure the livestock was fun to see and the smells were always interesting, but what he loved most was hearing funny-sounding, speed-talking auctioneer. He decided then that he wanted to learn how to chant and chatter like the auctioneer.

Dykes is the newest member of The Allen Crumley Group — a farm and ranch extension of Williams Trew Real Estate. Dykes is also an extremely talented auctioneer. In 2017 he was awarded a state championship title for his skills and you have to hear him do his thing.

In high school and college, his auctioning skills were a novelty and a party trick. When people found out his talent for talking in an auctioning chant, they would get him to perform.

One professor at Texas A&M University would bring Dykes to the front of the class on Agriculture Business and have him teach the class what it was like to be in an auction and hear from an expert.

Auctioneer And Realtor

While traversing the state working auctions for cars, livestock, estate items, and whatever else needed to be sold, Dykes realized that being a Realtor and an auctioneer had many similarities.

“It’s all about making a connection with people,” explained Dykes. “As an auctioneer, I want to quickly connect with bidders and get them comfortable giving their highest bid. As a Realtor, I want to be but a trusted source of knowledge when it comes to farms, ranches, and residential properties. When people find out that I’m in real estate they have come to me with questions on pricing non-realty farm and ranch items or to help them sell a piece of land as well.”

First, But Not Last in the Family

Dykes and his wife, Emily, have a 15-month-old son, Leo, who already is showing aptitude at becoming a world-class auctioneer.

“Leo will mimic my chant when we ask him, ‘What does daddy say?’ it’s really funny,” he said. “Who knows, maybe there’s a future for him. If nothing else it’s fun to see Leo having a good time.”

When he’s not selling real estate or working on his auctioneering skills, Dykes is involved with the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce as well as the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo.

“I love being an auctioneer and a Realtor,” Dykes said. “What’s so great is that I get to mix my passions into making a living for me and my family.”
