If you’ve ever perused the wonderfully aesthetic coffee table book “Marfa Modern: Artistic Interiors of Marfa,” you may be curious about an artsy rental in Texas’ artsiest desert town.

Marfa, Texas, is known as a cultural and artistic oasis in the middle of the remote Chihuahuan Desert. It takes some determination to get there (it’s about a three-hour drive from El Paso and about an eight-hour drive from Dallas), but it’s well worth the trip. Plus, you can combine it with an epic adventure into nearby Big Bend National Park.

Need a place to stay in true Marfa style on your epic West Texas trip? See Mary Cate Long’s list of top spots for your funky Marfa escape on SecondShelters.com now.
