Did you ever watch Diff’rent Strokes and whisper to yourself with steely determination, “The Penthouse … someday.” Well, buddy, today is that day. Your top-level dreams are about to come true with this 810-square-foot, one-bedroom, one-bathroom, 2007-built condo.
One entire wall of this space is windows, the ceilings are soaring, and the hardwoods are reclaimed basketball courts. They have the appropriate level of distressing, so they not only look cool, they’re functional as well. As in, go ahead, drop a canning jar of pickled okra, leave a mark, who even cares??? It just adds to the character.
Another great thing about life at the top? The views. All of Dallas, seemingly just for you is right outside your sliding glass door. That’s right, there’s a balcony. A generous one, too. And it’s open air, but even if you have a fear of heights, don’t sweat it. Just get a tether and call it a day.

The Briefest Commute
Now, let’s talk about that proximity to downtown. If you’re a young professional, hustle-and-bustle type, there’s literally no place closer that’s this cool and affordable, OK? And by the way, your commute is so short, it currently takes coworkers longer to figure out how to unmute on Zoom than it will for you to, you know, get to the actual building.
As we kick off the perks list, Compass’ Phillip Murrell pointed out that most condos in the area offer one parking space, but 1001 Belleview Street, Unit #1002 offers two. That’s huge for married couples that want to share their living space, but not so much on a car.

Walkable Everywhere You Look
Not that you’ll need a car living in The Cedars. There’s plenty to do and see and places to eat that are all super close. Like Monica’s Mex-Tex (not a typo), Southside on Lamar, Gilley’s, Southside Ballroom, and Alamo Drafthouse, which recently reopened.
Speaking of recently opened … hail an Uber and hop downtown to explore the AT&T Discovery District. Do we fully understand what it is? Not entirely, but it looks really cool and they’re following COVID guidelines so it just might be worth checking out.

Final Plug
The current owners love it here. It’s a great place in a great location, and sometimes when you share a wall with people you become really good friends. So much so that even when you’re not splitting that wall, you stay in touch and even dog sit.
Speaking of which, there’s a fantastic dog park right next door. And a rooftop pool, though we’re fairly certain THAT’S not for dogs.
If you’re interested in living that baller life at the top of The Beat, give Compass Real Estate’s Phillip Murrell a call and he’ll show you around. He’s listed 1001 Belleview Unit #1002 for $249,900.
