Kitchens and bathrooms sell houses, the old saying goes. If that’s the case, then the post-war beauty at 5824 Palm Ln. won’t be on the market long, so take a look while it’s still available.

This 2-2 is renovated from the top to bottom of its 1,479 square feet. The reno includes newly refinished and stained hardwoods, crown molding, surround sound capability, Wink home automation, a luxury master bathroom, and a kitchen that wows with its look and amenities.

The North Stonewall Terrace neighborhood in central Dallas is a prime location, near Mockingbird and Matilda, just three blocks from Central Expressway, three miles from White Rock Lake, and 3.5 miles from NorthPark Center.

It’s also zoned for Stonewall Jackson Elementary School, rated “10” by GreatSchools.org.

Our Thursday Three Hundred was listed June 5 by Damon Williamson at Keller Williams Park Cities for $399,900, and we bet this Central Dallas home will find a buyer soon.

The drive-up appeal is undeniable—love the cute landscaping, stone walkway, and wood door on the one-car garage. The red roses are a cheerful pop of color.

The price of this house per square foot, $270, is on the high end of neighborhood comps (nine houses). They range from $225 to $287 a square foot, and average $244. This house’s swimming pool and extensive renovations make it a solid asking price, in my opinion.

Near the entryway in the living room, you’ll find the first of two fireplaces—this one is wood burning and adds an attractive visual presence to the room. Nearby is the dining room, which sits between the dining room and kitchen, and both front rooms have matching, delicate chandeliers.

The color palette of the house is a family of warm grays and rich browns—very modern and fresh.

The spacious kitchen is updated with stainless steel appliances, including a Viking range and hood, Bosch dishwasher, and wine refrigerator. The marble subway tile backsplash and white-painted brick wall contrast attractively with the deep espresso cabinets, some of which have glass fronts.

Off the kitchen is a large, second living room with large, gray-tan tiles and the second fireplace, this one decorative with gray tiling along the back. The bar area in the kitchen, where the wine refrigerator is located, has a window into this living area. Easy to serve drinks to guests, or grab a quick one on the way to the pool in the backyard. The half bath is nearby.

Now onto the bedrooms. They both have those great hardwood floors and crown molding and the master has large walk-in closets. The master bathroom’s renovations have it awash in marble tile and light finishes. I appreciate that the reno included a bathroom trend: a tiled, recessed niche for holding bath products. Thoughtful touch.

This house is so much more than its kitchen and bathrooms—it’s practically the total package. Tell us your opinion in the comments.
