From Staff Reports
Texas Realtors recently presented Dallas/Fort Worth-based Realtor Judy M. Jones with its Distinguished Service Award in recognition of her long history of community service within the real estate industry. The Distinguished Service Award recognizes outstanding Realtors with a record of at least 25 years of service and civic participation.
“Judy’s involvement within the Realtor organization and her community is an inspiration to us all,” said Tray Bates, 2019 chairman of Texas Realtors. “She goes above and beyond to make a positive impact not only with Realtors and homeowners, but also through her work with children’s charities.”
Jones, broker of Realty Professionals of Texas in Southlake, has been in the real estate industry for 45 years. Among many positions she has held, Jones served on the board of directors of the MetroTex Association of Realtors for eight years and was the association’s chairman in 2013. She also was named MetroTex Realtor of the Year in 2013. On the state level, she was a Texas Realtors regional vice president, chaired the Issues Mobilization Committee, and served as a governmental affairs liaison. Jones also served on the National Association of Realtors board of directors from 2011-2016.
Jones has participated in numerous volunteer roles in her community, including helping kids stay in school through Child at Risk, and raising funds for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation for more than a decade.
“I am beyond honored to receive this recognition from Texas Realtors,” Jones said. “Throughout my career I’ve been passionate about giving back to my profession and to the Dallas community. I hope my work has inspired local Realtors and community members to get involved.”
Jones was recognized along with Realtor Howard Smith during the Texas Realtors Board of Directors meeting at the association’s annual conference held in Fort Worth in September.
