Joanna and Chip Gaines discuss Joanna’s new book in a video at Silobration (YouTube

The seventh annual Silobration, a celebration of the Magnolia Market at the Silos in downtown Waco, wrapped up last week, but Fixer Upper stars Chip and Joanna Gaines had one last gift for their fans.

They released a 26-minute video of Chip and Joanna chatting about Jo’s new book, The Stories We Tell.
Joanna talked about the “power of writing down your story, how to let go of the weights that hold you back, and giving yourself grace in the process.”

The Magnolia Table star also shared the reasoning on the book’s cover. It features a black-and-white photo of Joanna without makeup because she “didn’t want it to be polished.”

The cover is a wrap to the book cover, a picture of her as a young girl.

“The more like her that I can be at 44, the better I will be,” she said at the moderated session at Silobration. “I want to celebrate who she was.”

The coming week will be big for Joanna.

It all kicks off Monday with a four-episode podcast specific to her book. On Tuesday, her book is scheduled for release with Joanna appearing on NBC’s Today show.

She’ll appear on the cover of the Nov. 14 edition of People. In the cover story, she told People she’s “thankful for the process.

“In the beginning, I never thought I would share this with anyone. But then when I realized in that vulnerability when you do share your story, if it inspires one other person to write their story down so that they can see that clarity and purpose in their own life, it’s worth it.”
