What does this gorgeous Inwood Meadows Estate at 5102 Lakehill Court have in common with the George W. Bush Presidential Library, The American Airlines Center, and Booker T. Washington High School?

It was originally built in 1984 for Mr. and Mrs. C. Dewitt Brown Jr. Brown was the founder of Dee Brown Inc., one of the largest commercial masonry contractors in the country. Their projects include all of the aforementioned buildings, as well as almost every building you’ve ever heard of. So, when the man that started an award-winning masonry company built his own home, he built it to last — for centuries.

As you’d expect there is some amazing brickwork in this $3.065 million, 8,744-square-foot mansion. There are 126 brick arches throughout the grand hallway, the great room, and the balconies overlooking it.

Dewitt’s vision was created with the help of architect Jack Craycroft, principal with CMH  Architects. The firm designs award-winning university housing projects that include The University of Texas, Purdue, and The University of California.

Talk about a home with a pedigree — this is it.

And as if that’s not enough, the landscape design was done by John Armstrong of Armstrong Berger Inc. They design commercial, recreational, and residential landscapes. One of their projects is just down the street — The Rachofsky House.

The four-bedroom, four-full-and-three-half-bathroom home has been flawlessly maintained and updated over the years, not just with stylish touches, but also with sensible installations such as a Lutron lighting system and energy efficient Kolby windows and doors.

But back to stylish: The kitchen was totally renovated with a wonderful Shaw farmhouse sink, Calcutta marble counters (sealed by MarbleSeal of course), and Viking appliances. We’ve never seen a custom copper hood like this one. It’s simply breathtaking. However, the most important features in this kitchen are the two full-height, Viking wine refrigerators — that’s going to hold about 300 bottles, or just enough champagne for one of our daltxrealestate.com events!

The other spectacular renovation is the master bathroom. A Restoration Hardware Piedmont soaking tub holds court in front of beautiful leaded windows, Carrera marble counters, Barbara Barry sconces, and Phillip Jeffries wallpaper — we are in love.

The grounds include three patios, one with a massive fireplace, walkways everywhere, a lovely play area, and a magnificent pool.

Location, of course, is key and this house is situated perfectly — on a cul-de-sac with only two other neighbors. Ursuline Academy of Dallas is just across Inwood and Love Field is minutes away.

There is so much more to see than we can possibly show and it’s all gorgeous, so if you can’t wait one minute more give Michelle Wood with Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s a call to set up an appointment.
