Dramatic Reduction on Designer Studded Watercolor Beach House

Just in time for Vacation Home Week, we found this very favorite listing of our’s in Watercolor, Florida, one of our very favorite second home spots, on the bargain table. This is like when you find a Firenzie handbag on sale at Neimans — you know it doesn’t belong there, but it’s there and reduced and you snap it up faster than you can locate your credit card. That’s exactly what you need to do with this house. If you know anything about Watercolor and the panhandle Gulf coast of Florida, you will know what a steal this home is.

Located in the heart of Watercolor, 401 Western Lake Drive, less than a five minute walk to the beach, this home is now less than $3 million!

You know you want a home by the beach in time for Thanksgiving vacation. Activities: kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, shops and restaurants, plus the Watercolor Beach Club which has two pools.  Or my personal favorite — just lay out at the beach, with the ocean in the background. This elegant home has much sophistication, but it was designed to be a true family compound. Built in 2007, the home has 4433 square feet and four bedrooms, four full baths and two half to house everyone plus the kitchen sink. Most beach homes in this neck of the woods have twin beds in as many room as possible to fit in more sleepers. There are four full baths, and two half powder rooms, which also helps with lots of guests.

The listing agent, Karen Wagner, who hails from Dallas, tells me the home was once priced at $3,600,000. It has now been reduced to $2,999,000. YIKES!

301-Western-lake-drive-LR1The classical proportions and sophisticated modern lines you see are the work of Bates & Corkern Architects, and designer Liz Hand Woods of Birmingham, Alabama. The three-story home just embraces outdoor living. The front porch presents a traditional welcome to the street, but the moment you walk inside it’s a contemporary world with natural, beach-washed finishes. A sliding barn door introduces the breezeway and a private courtyard with a pool and outdoor showers. All is tucked within a lush natural landscape along the lake. You get formals — which means flipflops, no bare feet — and a family room all designed to bring you relief and respite from the heat and beach experience. Then there is a huge central kitchen with every amenity, and a screened-in porch breakfast room.

I’m telling you, this one won’t last at that price! The good folks at Inwood Mortgage have a fancy for the Florida Gulf coast as well, and besides, how can they turn down such a deal? I would get in touch with Karen today. Then call Inwood. Don’t forget the Wright Amendment is going bye-bye come October, which means direct flights to Panama City on Southwest Airlines.

You could be at the beach… in three hours!
