If You Thought This MCM Was Stunning, Look at the Backyard

I’d never even heard of Lyre Lane before writing this, but now I want to live there.

Look at this little stunner. And by little, I mean “of substantial size.” It’s 2,728 square feet with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. But the story here isn’t the address or the size…it’s the fact it’s a stunning 1967-built MCM with a backyard to die for.

Like are you kidding me right now? Look at that sprawling deck, all stair-stepped with a hammock no less. It’s like someone picked up Lake Travis with some ropes and a helicopter and plopped in your backyard. Except it’s a creek in your backyard, not a lake.

What really gets you is the front looks so unassuming. You have no idea what you’re in store for from the front. The porte cochere is grand with gorgeous wood and slate covered steps.

Inside, you’ll find an updated kitchen. Not massive, but a nice size with a solid flow. Very into the mosaic that serves as a backsplash and beyond in the sweet little kitchen. All the colors and patterns and textures work so well together to create custom — not cookie cutter.

Love the floating staircase with the modern cable railing. I’m a sucker for a step-down living room and don’t you know, Lyre delivers.

In the bathrooms they kept it clean and simple and here’s a shocker, I’m into it.

Okay, there’s carpet in the rooms. I can feel some of you starting to protest, but it’s a low pile so it will wear well. One time I asked a contractor why he uses carpet in new homes when it can cause such a visceral reaction. He said, “It’s the easiest to switch out if that’s what the new owners choose to do.” THOUGHTFUL.

Well, we’ve raved enough, now it’s up to you. Compass’ Amy Malooley just listed 6821 Lyre Lane on Thursday at $799,000 so now would be a good time to pounce.
